Lowes has Seimens
While checking out things at Lowes Last night -noticed thy have the Seimens washers and Dryer pair as well.(FL washer)It looked like the same one BB has.Lowes also has the Bosch dishwashers. They have changed their appliance lineup somewhat-no longer emphasizing the builders brand models! |

Siemans are rebadged Bosch Nexxt washers/dryers with basically the same features under the bonnet. Bosch and Siemans are part of the same parent company "BSH Group" and both divisons are planning major incursions into the United States major and small kitchen appliance market.

Door on Bosch
I just looked at those today at Lowes. That may explain why the door didn't close properly if it has an automatic feature. Though my Frigidaire F/L set is about 2 1/2 years old, I've been looking at some of the newer, larger machines. The Frigidaire is great, but recently bought a new king size bed, and some of the king sized linens are going to be a tight fit in the machine. |

Washers and floor problems
Yes-when looking at the nameplate on the Bosch dishwasher at Lowes(it was displayed next to a KA machine)its nameplate mentioned it was built in the US-but didn't tell the location.I didn't notice the place where the Seimens "Nexxt" washer and dryers were built. Why doesn't the dryer have a window?just thought for matching of appearence-but then answered my own question-maybe for heat retention.

Other Bosch questions
I don't know on the Bosch appliance line-but the "Bosch" line of power tools is under the Skil-Emerson ownership.Emerson also owns Dremel. Is the Bosch major appliances under Emerson ownership as well? When I repaired and sold power tools(mid 80s)Bosch tools were all built in Germany or Switzerland(jig saws)and The drills and hammer drills were from Germany. Now the Bosch tools are made in the US.The jigsaws are still from Switzerland.Bosch bought up "Scintilla" company that built the first hand held jigsaws.-before WW 2. |

Bosch appliances are built in their New Bern, North Carolina, USA plant. If you notice the spec plates for the Nexxt washers (have not seen the Siemans)states Nexxt washers are only assembled in the United States, says nothing about where the parts are made. IIRC read somewhere (Appliance Magazine?) quite a bit of parts/materials for the washers and dryers comes from Europe and merely assembed in the US. This makes sense as it allows the product to state "Made in the United States" and avoid high import duties on pre-made appliances.

Bosch Washers
I was browsing through my local Best Buy on Friday. It usually starts with the CD section (I'm always in the market for music), then ends in the laundry section. I was stunned to find the ratio of front-loaders to top-loaders at around 50-50! I knew it would get there, but not so soon. My Bosch Axxis pair is two years old. I have the compact models...not the full-size ones now available. They are great in every way, and perfect for a single person. I hope the new models out there live up to the performance of their predecessors.

Bosch New Bern NC factory
Read the attachment on the earlier entry-The Bosch tool factory was breifly used by them before the tool division was bought up by Skil-Emerson. After they took over the tools-they manufacturing for them was moved to another location-I am not sure-someplace like Kentucky or Tennesee.Other power tool builders are in those states. The Bosch Appliance factory sounds very impressive. Like its flexibility as mentioned in the article. They can build whatever appliance is in demand at the time of an order. Also they changed the way enamaling and pocealization is down. Gone with the acid baths and etching. the alkali method would be more earth freindly.-But still have to run the hi temp kiln though to bake the finish.Wonder if they have tours!!? would be neat to see it. also a factory that build audio mixing consoles is in New Bern-Wheatstone.they build audio mixer consoles for the broadcast and recording industries.Would like to see them as well. |

Bosch nexxt
I've been washing with a nexxt premium since march. It is great! The door however does not latch itself closed. If i get ours in just the right position it will close, but still wont "latch" itself closed. I wasnt expecting it to.

The Bosch Nexxt and Sieman washers are the same, just slightly different cycles and whistles for the Siemans machine. Therefore cannot see how one can have a larger capacity than the other.

Siemens Capacity
Its funny that this issue came up. When BB launched the Siemens brand I did a little research and found that they claim 3.7 IEC on the Siemens model but the Bosch model never gives and IEC rating (that I could find). I have only seen either 3.03 cu. ft. or 18 lbs.

Their washers, dryers and DW's aside, have you seen their ranges? There's a dual-fuel Siemens range with my name on it somewhere! Sameful that American manufacturers can't match that quality. |

I thought Earthling had the older model of the Bosch, the one before the Axxis models came out. Or did he get a new set? |

According to the Engergy Star website all the front loaders made by BSH in the North America plant (2 Bosch Nexxt models, and both Siemens) have the same volume, 3.03.

Bosch/Siemens
I'm starting to see TV ads for Siemens now. |
