I am surprized that the Staber style washing machine has never taken off.

Electronics worry
The cool electronics in the modern machines out there-its cool-but a worry for folks that live in the lightening prone southeast US as I do.Hope the electronics are easy to replace. The vintage machines I have I don't worry about their electromechanical timers and lightening. With the all electronic ones-would have to unplug them during storms.Do that with my WP-KA dishwasher.Won't have to worry when I fix and install the KDS-18 washer. |

Top loading HL axis machines.
I know these are not Rolls Royce machines, but the Hoover vision TL looks pretty spiffy to me, ans shows how sophisticated these machines can be, compared to the staber.

Nice looking toploader. I guess they were inspired by the Miele toploaders. |

Hoover?
Isn't Hoover owned by Maytag? I wonder why we don't see a few of these rebadged for the US.

Hoover and Hoover
Yes, at least the American Hoover brand. In Europe however Hoover is owned by the Candy group. Two different companies with the same name. |

Ironically...
Don't know if it is linked at all in anyway, probably just plain coincidence, but Hoover had a Perfoma line in the late 90s...
