Japanese manufacturers love a gimmick but really we want innovation not gimmicks.

catalytic washer additives

Read the link-quite interesting-didn't washer builders(USA Whirlpool and Kenmore) play around with "Catalytic" devices to try to do away with the detergent?(it didn't work)I can remember vaguely CU tested the devices and they didn't work well in their tests.

The various powders and potions-

are a large part of the fun!

I have heard a suggestion for piped-in detergent and softener, and in some ways that might be a good idea, but I actually like choosing my laundry chemicals.
