A friend of mine was telling me the Maytag rep was teasing him about a new type of T/L that they will introduce---Model MAH2400 (Washer) and MDE2400 (Dryer). Who is making these? Am I late catching on?

CORRECTION TO LAST POST!

It should read "new type of F/L"! Oops!

There are one if not two threads regarding the "new" Maytag Neptune compact front loading washer and dryer.

They are NOT built by Maytag, but rebadged Samsung units sold under agreement (Maytag and Samsung are the latest appliance makers to hook up). Strangely the "aggreement" does not apply to Canada as it seems the Samsung units are being sold there under the company name.

So far only one retailer, A.J. Madison seems to offer the units, and several weeks ago when I called for information was told they didn't have them in stock. The sales person even went so far as to try and steer me towards LG's or something else. His point of view was "Maytag didn't do well with the last front loaders they built (Neptune), why would you trust them?"

FWIW the washer has a nice capacity for a "compact" front loader, about 2.5 CuFt, but lacks an internal heater. Final spin speed is variable to 1200 rpms.

P.S.

MAH2400 is the model number for the Maytag Neptune Compact front loader.

Here's the link for the Maytag MDE2400 Compact Dryer. Sears also sells the insert required for stacking the washer and dryer on their website.
