My sister called and said her 9-yr. old BOL Kenmore gave out and they have no money to replace it at the moment. After giving it about 1.2 seconds of thought, I told her "Hey, you can have my Frigidaire." As much as I like it, I've been itching to get a machine with a SS interior. Locally, I can buy GE, Maytag, KitchenAid, Whirlpool and Frigidaire. I really like my indie Frigi/Maytag dealer, so I decided to try a Maytag. Have never had one before. I ordered the TOL Jetclean II.

Unfortunately, the day I placed the order my dealer had just received a shipment from Maytag, and he has to have a 10-piece minimum to order. Therefore, it could be up to 3 weeks before I take possession of my new machine.

I'm excited and didn't know who else to tell, since the people I know in the real world don't give 2-hoots about appliances, new or vintage. I'll take a bunch of pics when it arrives.

BTW, if anyone has had either very good or horrible experiences with newer Maytag DW's, now is the time to tell me! I wasn't all that impressed with the one SS Whirlpool model, and I've had KitchenAids several times, so I wanted to try something different.

hasa a one year old MOL Maytag dishwasher. She and her two teenagers use it a lot. They've had no problems with it.

I go over there a couple of times a month to make dinner and watch a dvd with her, and I like it, too.

Of course, I prefer the first Maytag dishwasher I ever used, our 1973 belt-drive.

My parents have a new MOL SS Maytag dishwasher and I've run dishes, glasses, and silverware that's been caked in Katrina funk and they came out sparkling. I restored old Melmac and Tupperware plates and bowls and now we use them daily just like it was when we lived in Chalmette.

It's difficult for me to wait even five minutes for anything, so the notion of waiting for a couple of weeks for my new toy is....well, let's just say I now understand why my Mom, in her thick Italian accent, would say to the 5-year old me: "Justa fuggetabout Chreestmas! When eeta gets here, I tella you, awkay? If you donna stop, you drive-a me crazee!"

I've already downloaded the owner's manual and looked at it on Maytag's website about 10 times today...

Jason, your parent's dishwasher isn't stainless inside, right? Just the outside panel. I noticed it has a control knob. Does it have a fixed tower in the bottom rack? What's the model number?

Frigilux, I hate to say this, but I personally believe you should go to Epinions.com and also That Homesite.com to see individual's experiences with the Maytag Tall Tubs.

If you're wanting the model number of my friend Linda's, I can't begin to remember! Maytag model numbers are now alpha-numeric soup like everyone else's these days. For what it's worth, it's all pushbuttons, panel lights, and has a delay option. It's also plastic inside.

Our first Maytag dishwasher was the WC400. I like my GE, but, oh I wish I had a belt-drive Maytag portable now!

Hi! frigilux, I've got the first Model #MDB7600AWW of the Maytag 2-Rack Taller-Tub and except for a Manufacture Repair of replacing the Wiring Harness, it has been a great Dishwasher and it is fairly quite as well. The Maytag Dealer had a promotional special on the new Taller-Tub Dishwashers, so when I bought mine, I got a "Free" 7-Year Extended Warrantee with it. It has the separate Silverware Holders, that Latch together or can be placed in different areas of the Lower Rack. It also has 4-Lower and 2-Upper extra Stack-Side Racks for additional items with the Racks down, or fold/lock them for larger items. The Upper Rack also has 2-Height Adjustments and the Upper Spray Arm has a Tube that enters a 2-Level opening, for the different Heights. Both of the Racks have ample holding for everything that I've wanted to place in them for Washing and even though it is totally Electronically operated, I feel that it has quite a selection of Cycles and Options to select from. It is also one of the most quitest Dishwasher I've ever owned. I can hear the Water Spraying around through the Spray Arms, hitting the Sides of the Tub and I can hear the Water going into my Air-Gap, but all of that is real quiet, besides I perfer being able to hear Appliances operating, so I can get to know how they sound, so if there is something that doesn't sound right, I can distinct the difference in the noises. You can certainly listen to the TV or talk in the Kitchen, with the Dishwasher operating, without the need to almost shouting or having to turn the Volumm up on the TV. This is "BTW" my 2nd Maytag Dishwasher, the first one was one of the WU-502 Belt-Drive Dishwashers, with the Plates and Silverware going in the Upper Rack and the Glasses going in the Lower Rack. I sold it to a Friend several years ago, when she bought her house around 8-years ago and it is still going real good, after all these years. I've basically had such real good luck with the Maytag Dishwashers, that I don't think that I would ever purchase any other Brand.

Appnut, I'll check out what people have to say at THS. That may be frightening, but I have to do it. On the other hand, I've read horrible things about almost all the appliances I own there, and I've not had a bad experience with any of them, myself.

SactoTB-- I almost got the 7600, but decided to go for the SS interior. I also wanted a machine with the Series 400 soundproofing, as it seems make for a quieter machine. That led me to this one.

Sorry have not been online for a few days. Anways I have a stainless interior Maytag although it is not the tall tub. I have had it for about two and a half years and love it. I don't have the model number handy but will let you know. I was on the Maytag site and did not see it there so I am sure it is no longer available.

I do believe the stainless interior model you are referring to is the MDB9100 or MDB6650. There were two of the former tall-tub models that came out in stainless interior. Those were actually veriy good dishwashers, the last of the great ones.

Bob - You are right it is the MDB6650 and I got it for a steal back in May of 2003. As I said before I could not be happier with it!

My mother bought the new Maytag tall tub TOL to replace her 11 service calls F&P dishdrawers. Needless to say, she LOVES the Maytag! I've used it twice when I was visiting, and noticed that it washes really well, but is not as quiet as the "European/American" models. For her though, it's the perfect machine. Mark

If there was a Sears near me, I'd definitely get a Bosch or a Kenmore Elite (a couple of which are BoschMores, I believe). Unfortunately, the nearest Sears is 65 miles away and the delivery/installation would cost a lot. Plus, I like to keep as much business in town as I can; In a town of only 4,500 every sale means a lot to local merchants. Now that I've lived here 20 years, I'm finally feeling like a 'local', LOL.

We used to have a Sears 'catalog' store here, which was great. They stocked a few appliances, but you could order anything Sears made. Frankly, overall, I think Kenmore has the best line of appliances in America.
