Sanyno Compact Dryers - What Is The Deal?

Have seen these units go for $$$ on eBay or thrifts, and cannot imagine what the furore is all about.

Basically one has a ventless dryer that runs on 110v (so right there we are speaking of rather limited drying power), and spews hot air and lint out of the front/into the room.

Ventless dryers have been around in various incarnations from the Hoover/Maytag portables (mates of their twin tub washers), to the Asian made GE/Speed Queen models. These vented to the rear, but still do not command the prices seen for the Sanyo units. What is the deal?

Units have long been out of production, so cannot post a link that way. Didn't check eBay before posting my query for current auctions.

oh sorry, sounded like your thought may have been inspired by a flea-pay sighting.

Dryer- 220v to 110v conversion (both 60hz.)

If I go to a rental for a while,

1) I may try to get a GE 220 v to 110v convertible electric dryer from the 60's 70's. (May not be able to vent to the out-of-doors).

2) I may buy a regular electric machine (full-size) and either rig it to use 110v with the exisitng/provided element element, or use an element for a portable 110v machine and rig it.

We shall see.
Anyone ever do this successfully?
Can one get a full-sized 110v condenser dryer in the states?
