Chach - what kind of fryer is that? How much will it hold? That looks pretty big. |

It's a Nesco Brand
It holds about one of those really big jars of oil. I'm at work at the moment so I can't look at the bottle to give you the size.

I'm glad you added "thread" to the end of your title. Otherwise I'm sure you'd be hearing from a lot of interested parties, myself included, about something entirely different.

I really wanted a Miele this time
I agree. Nice loads!! I would have bought the Miele or possibly Asko but I was afraid of service here in Arkeensaw. I went with the Boschmore because of my own experience with Bosch and I figured I could get serivce through Sears if I needed it.

miele dishwasher
I do love my Miele. As far as service goes...Miele handles it with factory service. when my Miele washer arrived DOA...Miele sent a guy up from Massachusetts and he had the Miele van and the part I needed to get the washer up and running. Granted the washer shouldnt have needed a new motor right off the bat but he had a replacement motor ready and so far I have not had any trouble with the washer. Miele service is awesome...they were on time and the guy was very professional. He walked me thru what he was doing and I was impressed by the fact he knew what he was doing. Ever call for service and the guy has no clue??He told me that if I ever need service with any Miele product to call Miele and they will set it up and service it. they prefer that customers do that and not let anyone else work on it...they are not trained as a Miele tech would be.

SIze Matters!
I have read here that the Bosch machines of current style are smaller than most others. I even went to Lowes to check and their racks seem smaller. I wonder why the person mentioned is replcaing her KitchenAid.. she wont find anything around to compare with it, and hopefully is not trying to be energy wise and pound foolish. She can load it up and everything would be cleaned and sanitized in well less than two hours! Maybe we can convince her to fix or keep it! |

I'm kind of a DW fanatic, basically I like what I like. We've had the range of DWs over the years, my favorites are never mentioned here, GE. I returned 3 DWs last year till I got one I liked, a MOL GE.

I am also a bit of a dishwasher fanatic
and I am surprised to hear some of you think the Bosch holds that much less than other dishwashers. I have been a Kitchen Aid guy for many years but once they sold I think all of the good things about KA dishwashers went with the sale.

My four year old Bosch is about 1 inch less deep than the Elux Frigidaire POS it replaced. I understand this is because standard European kitchen counters are a bit less deep than standard American counters. The bottom rack is more square than rectangular, as a result. But it doesn't seem to limit the capacity in any significant way. Plus, it cleans so much better than the Frigidaire. And, since the top rack can be removed completely and replaced with a spray head, the Bosch can fit very tall items that simply wouldn't fit in the Frigidaire. Also, I think the incorporation of the water heater into the sump area leads to a bit more vertical room in the Bosch, and its hidden location means that plastic items can be placed on the bottom rack without fear of getting melted by an exposed heating element.

Malcolm, how old is your dishwasher? I've never seen the front of Elite racks dip down. My bottom rack is level across and my top rack, it goes up in a hill rather than down in a valley so to speak. And mine was bought last May. |

Age
It is about three years old. It cleans well but is probably one of the worst constructed machines on the market. If you look on the left, just under the top rack, you'll see a little white goop. I had to caulk the door seal in place as it would either pull out when the door was opened or slip just enough to leak.

It always gets me that Whirlpool machines are able to do any washing with all their jets but two facing inward on the lower spray arm. |

Well since whirlmores are starting to show up at the end of this thread i like to share thanksgiving pics with the group. Now some peaple dont like the new design i like them, that wash arm design has been around since i beleve i saw in the early 80's and has gone threw different pump designs Malcome i agree with the arm hole design, but it really cleans well i got my friends a GU2600XTP model and it's very quit a little motor hum compared to bosch & miele and other european machines.I used the pots & pans cycle with a high temp score&sani rinse last night a really dirty load i hope bob approves i need his stamp hi bob! like to meet you someday. The machine has a sheer clean wash system & sensor wash system it really works when the fisrt pre rinse started the machine addded more water twice and drain some of the water out as it was still washing pretty cool, i hope everybody had a nice holiday here are some pics Darren k ![]() |

Darren, oh yes sir you get a BobLoad most definitely!! I would ghave loved to see what that skillet/fry pan that's in the front looked like inside. I'm surprised it got clean being right behind that cassarole dish. I have the Kenmore Elite version of this machine. The little bit of water draining off and adding more water during the prewash is what it's supposed to do. It's part of the Automatic Filter Purge feature (AFP). As soil collects and the sensors sense the restriction on water flow and pressure on pump, the drain motor turns on and removes soiled water in the collection chamber for 5 seconds and water is added for 10 seconds. It will do this up to 4 times during the prewash. If there is food soil still being cleaned off during the main wash, the machine will purge like that up to 3 more times (yes folks, mine has been so nasty and dirty of a load a couple of times it has done that since I've had the machine since last May). It does surprise me how well it does clean. Again, you get bobLoad status. I look forward to meeting you too sometime. Glad you got to spend the holiday with John & Cal, they're great guys!! |

Thanks bob that pan got clean it had gravey in it every dish and pot had enough room for water circulation, thinks for the info on the APF system i talk about them at work all the time. I forgot about the seconds when the water comes in and how long it purges, the system works very well some of the members don't like them maybe because of cycle time. i'm waiting for the Whirlpool corp to come out with a new mind blowing wash system they still can improve that very top spray system somtimes with hollow glasses some sedament still remains maybe a larger sprayarm how knows? Well i got the bob stamp and that is cool lol .There is a miele pro diswasher in super,(thread 14407) and the some store pics where i work it's really powerful machine see what u think about it. talk to you soon Darren k |

Newer Design Dishwashers!
I agree with what Steve is saying. Their is nothing wrong with newer technology except when it goes several steps backwards. Their is nothing that will ever be made like the older KitchenAid machines. Machines that run 2 plus hours is a big step backwards. I like my GE talltub probably better than most out their but I miss my power clean whirlpool that I should have never given up. And the sad part their is really not a lack of water in this society and a machine that runs such a long time is wasting more energy. Why can't we design these machines??

I'm very happy with our 1 year old Siemens. Its lower spray arm shoots the water right through to the ceiling even if there are dishes in the bottom rack - was very impressed when I saw this.

The 2-hour cycle...
...was, to my thinking, created because the modern biological detergents required a longer time for their components to act: particularly the oxygen bleaches.
