Maybe you could if you get a power conversion kit... |

We've Told Ya
It simply is not worth the hassle and bother shipping unless you can make absolutely sure the units will run on 220v/60hz power or worse 120v/60hz. In theory the 220v power provided by the United States (2 120v lines) versus what is found in the UK (220v power from a single line), shouldn't make much of a difference. However appliances rated to run on 50hz may run differently on 60hz, and the computers/motherboards may also give trouble.

For equipment that uses circuit boards-motor controllers that rectify and reconvert the rectified current to variable frequency current-the powerline frequency does not matter. If the motor runs from the line directly-then it would. But best bet is still get equipment designed for the power source you want to run it from-and can provide warratee service-user imported equipment loses its warratees when run on other power sources. For apartment dwellers-its a real problem-the voltage in your apartment for an electric range or dryer-may be 208V not 220V.Most apartment buildings are wired with 208-120V 3Ph.The 220V appliance-such as the foregn washer or dryer may not run from 208V.The voltage may be too low and overheat the motor. |

Why import when you can get it at home?
