Very nice condition with the rust spot on top. Of course, the rates they pay for scrap metal are going up so maybe that's the basis for the price. Let's see, scrap value, maybe $5.00, but it runs even though it can't be tested and is in very nice shape except for the rust spot on top and the scratches on the front so that increases the scrap value 40 times hence $200.00. Given the, uh, environment, I wonder if mice or worse are residing in the dryer. When I see something priced like this, I wish I cared enough to ask if they would buy it at that price.

But somehow, they gotta pay for their Christmas gift debt.

Looks like another sad refugee from the swap shop-way overpriced-esp for its condition-did they dig it up from the dump?

Post# 256471-12/27/2007-11:56 ||| Tomturbomatic (Beltsville, MD)

FROM THE DUMP?!?

What do you call where it is resting now? If not a dump, it looks like it could qualify.

That's hilarious! Someone needs to explain to the sell the definition of "like new". Launderess, let us know if some moron buys it for that price, won't you? Oy vey!

Well, it's almost a classic - they haven't made that dryer design for what, 10-12 years or so?

Another one photographed in the "dump" setting like the first machine?Maybe the "dump" setting for the pictures makes it so the clowns can sell them at high prices on Craigslist and Ebay.

And the Peabody goes to:

For combining the most brand names incorrectly into one appliance ad.

"Sears Coldpoint Deepfreeze"

And, there's carpet taped to the top just for added fun!

I think that dryer has spent too much time out in the rain. Once again you think that the seller would make some attempt to clean the unit up before photographing it for the auction

Rules for getting good money on Ebay

1. Clean up your item so it looks as good as it can
2. Use clear photos showing several different angles
3. Use a photographic backdrop rather than some dump or on a
bed
4. Provide a nice description outlining any faults and history
if you have that available.

While this one isn't laundry related this is a good example of a bad auction. The photos are fine but this poor guy can't even write English correctly. I suspect it's Chinglish.
