Hi everyone, I'm back from a very long trek across Canada to pick up these beauties! They were located near Toronto, Ontario but I had them shipped to a friend's in Winnipeg where they awaited my arrival. Here's a preview. They are in very good working condition, only a small timer problem with the washer which is getting attended to this week.

Beautiful set, Eddy! Congratulations! I love those backsplashes....they look like a car's dashboard. The machines look to be in perfect shape...the stainless steel sure does shine!

WoW! Those are real beauties. I wish mine had a console like that! What are the two toggles towards the right of the timer----speed settings? I can't see, the ones to the left are water temp. controls. -Steve

Congratulations Eddy, that is a magnificent set!!! How many Speed Queens do you have now?

how many sets

Well Louis, I actually have 2 complete sets, this and the A-78 from '69. The others I have are singles: the A-49 (your favorite) the A-53, A101 (reversing motor) and a '60 dryer as well. This new set is my pride and joy!
Steve, those toggle switches are for wash temp (hot or warm), rinse temp (warm or cold) then agitation time (11-7 or 4-2) and speed (hi-low). The wash time toggle just turns off agitation and creates a "soak" period during the wash cycles so that the total agitation equals that amount. It's a real cool machine. A nice surprise was the lighted timer dial when it's turned on!

WOW, congrads

Eddy, many congrads, that is awesome !!! and to find a set no less. Hard enough to come across a 50's machine in that condition period, nevermind finding a set. That is amazing, good for you !!! :) I love the way the little light comes on over the timer dial on the washer, same thing on the dryer ?? Best of luck with them ....... --gregm

Eddy, sooo happy for ya!!! Awesome shape. OK, what are the two little knobs over the timer on the dryer? Is it timed dry only or does it have an auto dry (I doubt it though). Bob

Congrats, Eddy!

Looks like someone took very good care of these awesome machines. They're beautiful. I just love the lighted time dial on the washer. Does the drier light up too?

Enjoy using them and congratulations again.

Mike

Thanks for the nice remarks everyone. Yes Greg and Mark, the Dryer's controls light up too when it's on. It also has an ozone bulb inside! Bob, the two toggle switches on the dryer are: the left one is for Heat: on (up) or off (bottom). The right toggle is for temperature: high (top) or low (bottom). No auto dry, the timer dings when the load is finished.

Very nice set Eddy! You`ve got to love the control panels with the lighted controls and toggle switches. Have you tried them yet? They really look to be in good condition. Thanks for the pics, Don

Green with envy!

Eddy that washer looks NEW! I must come play with them! I fell in love with Roberts High vane agitator this summer THAT makes all the difference in the wash action!! Enjoy!
