Nice Frigidaire set, washer has glass window. Local Indiana pick-up only. They would look great under someone's tree!

Wow nice set!

These are only 80miles east from Goatfarmer! I think he is a Frigidaire man too! Sure would be nice to get something in a set!

Hmmm...doesn't sound too complicated if the washer pumps & agitates. New spin roller maybe?

And look, there's a WINDOW in the lid!!! :) Sure wish these were closer...

Personally if I had the room I'd drive to pick them up. But then law of averages would kick in and someone would be selling the same set right around the corner from me next month!

Dave,

I'd rent a pick up or U-Haul so it would be eaiser just to use a ramp to load and unload.

What's a five hour drive each way if the weather is nice? *LOL* You could always stay over night at a Motel Six or something and start back early the next day.

Just so every one knows, someone is auctioning off lots of "Jet-Cone" spare parts on fleaBay this week. Might only be 1-18 parts though, can't remember and do not know if they are interchangable.

What Models Are These?

Does anyone know? Are they TOL or what? Common? Rare?

These are "Gold Crown" machines which were usually a special model offered with some step-up features, two speeds, separate wash and rinse temp selectors, multi-cycle and of course, window lid! The top of the line would have had more options, lighted lower panel, etc.

I just spoke w/ the owner of these machines. He wasn't home @ the time of the call, therefore, I wasn't able to get the model numbers. ( I'll try later)

He got them from the original owner, they are NEAT machines, with, of course, the problem mentioned in the auction listing.

He further stated that he's has to make a trip to the KY area to get p/u an engine, anyone interested in these machines between n/e IN and the KY area could have the possibility of having them delivered.

I was going to take them, but I found a operating white set of 1-18's I'll be getting the 1st of the year. (can't wait :>)

Any questions/comments, lemme know, I'll pass it along.

Al

1-18 spin problems

I had this exact washer for many years.Even the same color. Mine was a 1971 model. I loved the machine, but had repeated problems with the clutch. It was replaced twice with nos parts. The third time it went to the alley, and got crushed with Thursday morning trash pickup. That was in 2001.If I had known about this web site then,I might have repaired it again. As much as I liked my machine, and even though this e bay auction is only is only 35 miles from my home,I still don't want them.I will wait for a 1950's or 1960's Frigidaire. I think it's worth the wait! (:
Best of luck to whomever wins these. It is very cool that they are the matched set. I think you will be needing a clutch however.

I'm about an hour or so away from them. I don't want the set,but if someone is interested,I can retrieve them, and hold them, for a SHORT PERIOD of time. Let me know.

Big, Heavy, Far away

That local shipping only thing kinda blows me outta the game LOL

No Bids?

Don't think anyone, besides newbies to fleaBay show their hand early in the game. Most action takes place the final few days, with the really hot bidding within the last several hours/minutes. IIRC the last few Frigidaire auctions I posted had no bidding until the last few days.

Some place their highest bid early, but it has been noted there are some unsavoury sellers who will get someone to bid up the price. It is VERY illegal, but one has to get the proof to sic the eBay police on em.

On The Other Hand,

No shipping means if one is not local, or willing to drive and pick it up, bidding is out of the question. Some sellers won't mind if you send a shipping company to get it, and will even crate/pack the item. Others, when they say "no shipping", they mean you must come with your own gear, and do the dirty work yourself.
