1. Anyone have pictures or descriptions of a 1950's era dishwasher called "Ling Tempo?" I believe they had a glass door where you could see all the action.

Ling Temco
These dishwashers evolved from the 18 inch wide James with the glass top. The same company made both brands.

Hey Zippyjet, it's interesting that you mention this. When I was a kid (about 40 years ago 1960's) my aunt had a very large counter top dishwasher that was actually plumbed in. It was about 4 feet wide and 2.5 feet high and very deep and had a full glass door. (Kinda like a giant microwave). There was a control panel on the right side with a selector knob and a progress dial and I remember a red pilot light. I was facinated with it and remember the glass as slightly opaque and rippled so you could just make out the water jets spraying on the glass and some of the dishes inside.
