What a cynic!!!!!! lol!
Didn't women pop out 9 kids JUST to appear on the front of Washing machine ads????? or were the kids all actors.... waiting for their break into real films??? I don't know!

Who all counted them to make sure there were nine? I did, cause I thought one may have been the Dog.

Was this particular machine made before or after the 16-pound VHQ machine? The "Norge 16" is definitely my favorite Norge machine, with that MONSTER curved-vane agitator. Based on what I've seen it next to (at the Convention), it could very well be the largest TL agitator in existence... |

Austin, this was before the VHQ. I am a bit stumped by the strange filter. I never saw a Norge with recirculating filter like that. All the ones I ever saw had the filter tray at the back kinda like the westinghouses. I remember this model in the lineup of what was in the brochure when my dad brought the brochure home for my mom to look at and pic what she wanted before the 1964 Norege15 (the tol) came into the house. Austin these machines had some reliability issues. The VHQ was the result of beefing up the design so to speak. |

My mom got a new machine like this one in '65. Hers had fewer bells and whistles but I distinctly remember the lint filter pan and the timer dial. It was replaced in '69 with a Kenmore 70, along with the matching dryer. |

Bob, I don't believe that the recirculating filter tray at the back of the top opening was started until about 1967, this machine is from 1963 and I believe its the first year of the large capacity, perforated tub, partial-neutral drain Norge. I have brochures for the entire line and they included both the perforated and solid tub machines.

Interesting...so Norge produced solid-tub and perforated-tub machines at the same time? Before 1963, did all the machines in the Norge lineup have solid tubs, and when was the last year of the solid tub Norge?

Thanks for the info Robert...I never realized the solid-tub Norges had such a long production run! Instead I thought the last of those rolled off around 1959-1960 or so; was way off on that assumption!

Robert, our Norge15 arrived 12/2264 and had the backmounted filter tray. |

Wow, thanks Bob, I guess the agitator mounted filter Norge was only a one or two year thing then, I thought it went on for a few years longer.
