If memory serves me correct, the Kenmore Dryer that is pictured inside of that link is a 1969-70 model. That model would be the #2 Kenmore of the said years. They eliminated the three buttons in the center of the console for 1971 and used oversized toggle switches instead.

There were two "keyboard" washers in the lineup that year, the Lady Kenmore with the "flip-down" cover, and the matching washer to this dryer (which was essentially a revived 1966-67 Lady Kenmore with different lettering and a two speed motor with a Vari-Flex agitator (because by then, it wasn't no longer a Lady Kenmore)).

So then, with that said, that dryer is not 8 years old, but is probably around 38 years old.

Very nice dryer though.

But Charles, if it was only #2 down from TOL dryer, I can't believe even THIS dryer would only have a plug-door small door instead of the full-width. The match to our Kenmore 800 washer (the dryer shown with that very old Kenmore/Whirlpool) was full-width.

Right up to and even now, the #2 Kenmore dryers over the years had always had "full-width" doors. The only exceptions that I know of were the #2 Kenmore dryers from the early 1960's. From my knowledge that era, only the Lady Kenmores had the "full-width" doors (1961 and 1963..... I do not have any catalogs from 1962 or 1964...... the first time I saw a #2 Kenmore dryer with a "full-width" door was about 1966 or 1967).

The dryer shown in the link listed above is definitely a #2 model. The model shown is a 1969-70. They kept the basic layout of the control console in 1971, but they replaced the three large keys in the center of the console with toggle switches.

The #2 Kenmore dryers from the late 1960's up until now has had "full-width" doors. And I have to say that includes the model shown in the link.

Charles, the thread is 9416 on this forum "Older Kenmore Dryer", the one I was thinking of.

FWIW, the late-1960s "match-all" Kenmore my parents once owned had a full-width door.
