Hey everyone, I usually just lurk but I came across a Craigslist ad that looks pretty interesting.

The dryer is a Kenmore 800 series and the washer looks like an early model Whirlpool or KM.

Seems a good catch for our Minnesotans!! Is that correct usage? What do we call people from Utah? Utahians or Utahers? Would not just roll off the tounge,would it, sounds like Italians with a thick drunken tounge. I know that people from Cypress are called Cypriots, people from Atlanta are Atlantans, people from Los Angeles are called Angelinos,(mostly referred to as assholes by the rest of the world) New Yorkers are New Yorkers, but what about people from Maine? Manians, Mainacs, Mainlanders,Mainionians, Vermont=Vermonters or Vermontians-who determines whether you are an "er" or "ian"? I am having a Seinfeld moment, excuse me.

Post# 174566-12/11/2006-05:35 ||| nmaineman36 (Lynn Mass)

Maine is Mainer. Not Mainiac and the like. Pronounced Mainah. When I was living in the midwest people would ask me that.

Post# 174567-12/11/2006-05:39 ||| nmaineman36 (Lynn Mass)

Chicago is Chicagoan. Omaha is Omahan if I remember right and Toronto is Torontonian. Boston is Bostonian.I have no idea what Lynn is ..never see it printed inthe paper. All I know is that we are the supposed City of Sin. Lyyn Lynn the City of Sin..hardly.

"Seems a good catch for our Minnesotans!! Is that correct usage?"

Only if you pronounce it "Minnesot'n". ;-)

here is Robert's

from the site

Looks like there is some difference, perhaps a year or so off or a middle of the line model or something.

Usually its an old dryer that survives and it is paired with a newer washer. Funny this has a newer dryer and a MUCH older washer.

Hope someone snags the WP washer! It needs to go to someone in this club for sure.

Post# 174642-12/11/2006-11:12 ||| hydralique (Los Angeles)

people from Los Angeles are called Angelinos,(mostly referred to as assholes . . .

Sorry you had a bad experience in LA, pturo, but I would hope you wouldn't hold a grudge against everyone who lives in the region.

The last time I was in New York one person treated me rudely, but I refuse to let that color my perceptions of an otherwise really nice and friendly group of people.

Post# 174682-12/11/2006-16:08 ||| pturo (Syracuse, NY)

Sorry hydraliqe, there ARE great people in the Los Angeles area, some of them my family members in the Pasadena area,and I am sure you are, too.

Yes we are Minnesotans and I am a Minneapolitan since I live in Minneapolis.

But I'm in Florida at the moment so no way for me to check that out. Hopefully someone will save it. What about the Iowa boys, Ben - Cory????

Post# 174997-12/12/2006-21:58 ||| scott55405 (Los Angeles)

Thank you Pturo, for clearing that up. The people here by and large are really great!

Rick, I'm thinking what probably happened here is this was a washer only family for many years, then a Sears catalog (one of those newspaperish sale ones they used to regularly mail) arrived with a good price on this dryer, and the idea of "let's get a dryer!" was born.
