I can't get the rusted cabinet screws out of two of left side of the Maytag washer I am restoring. All the others came out ok with the help of a propane torch. Seems the cabinet is not rusted much but the platform/base has major rust issues on this side(leaky tub to pump hose) where the screws from the base sticking inside from the cabinet look like rusted 16th century screws under the ocean longer than the titanic. How does a reasonably strong man get these stuck ba%$#*ds out? Doesn't Sears sell some kind of thing/bit that gets out any screw?

Do you have a large pair of vice grip pliers? What I usually do is try to lock grip (very tightly) the sides of the screw head with the pliers and get them turning. It works 75% of the time.

Hammer and chisel, hitting perpendicular to the base of the screw head, works just about every time.

Thanks! I drilled them out, will replace with stainless ones once the paint job is done.
