HI, I collect wringer washers so I thought is may have been a Thor? Since the story or movie takes place in Ohio, I beleive, maybe it could be an Apex too? The washer was probably made in the 30's because of the green color. Have a happy New Year. Gary |

Happy New Year. I believe the Thor washing machine company started out as the Hurley machine company from Chicago. At one time, the adgitator looked like fingers from a person's hand. I wonder what the washing action would have been like in those machines? Thor, in my estimation, was not a very good machine. They used fiber gears in some of their machines( I don't know the exact years for that) but that was not very successful. We lived on the farm in the 50's and we had one from the 30's. My mom was not very much impressed by it as i remember.
