Wow, the exterior has that new look to it. Is the tub in this one white? I know they usually are but this one looks a little dark to me. I hope it goes to a member of the club.

Good Luck,
James

Hi James!

Yes, the tub is white. We have not tested this machine so it may work, or it may not. Either way, it's certainly restorable and would make a wonderful addition to any collection! Mark

CONGRATS JASON!

It was only a matter of time before you realized your dream. I am very happy for you.

Have a good one,
James

hmm so THATS the machine Jason is crazy over. the control panel IS very attractive.

Post# 252155-12/4/2007-23:18 ||| appnut (Temple, TX)

Jason, you cannot imagine how happy I am for you. Yeah, it's not quite our model (because of the water level & temperature knobs difference), but it will "work". Your dream finally realized.

1972

But it's close enough to bring back a flood of childhood memories.

It looks like its in very good shape. Just needs TLC.

I'm Glad you got it Jason, it's only a hop, skip and a jump from the Tenn. boarder!
Within I say, 175 miles and wave when you pass Glade Spring, VA. to my Aunt Margaret.
Safe travels when you pick it up!

Congrats, Larry.

If there's one thing God has taught me in life... It's PATIENCE!

Good things come to those who wait so after the holidays, after I get my garage done, after I get the 800 all shined up and ready to go, the pics and videos will come.

Way to go JasonL

My mom bought that same identical washer in 1972 when her 1963 Kenmore 70 went to our summer home. We had that machine until December 1983 when it died and my mom got a Whirlpool Supreme that is now at our summer home (it replaced the 1963 Kenmore in 1989). If you could make some videos of it I would greatly appreciate it PAT COFFEY

Post# 252440-12/6/2007-08:01 ||| jasonl (Crossville, TN)

Ain't that interesting. We lost our Kenmore 800s the same year, to a new Whirlpool. This one looks in great shape, needs some cleaning and I don't know how it runs so it may need some TLC before I make a video.

looks like washers have 10 to 15 life span. remember that partially rusted 1982 kenmore i have up on youtube? remember i mentioned that house once had stackable w/d? well the house was built in 1971 and i was told by my mom the old w/d broke down it was replaced with the 1982 kenmore. i even have the manual to it, but i can't find. itz dated 6-3-82 and i said to myself wow the old machine were only 11yrs old. the sad part i don't know what they look like because i wasn't born yet, but i was told it was either yellow or brown. the old kitchen appliances were brown and they were ge's so i'm assuming the old machine were brown ge's too. i don't have any pictures of them, but i do have some of the old range and dishwasher, but i wasn't also around when the dw broke too, but i was around when we still had the ge range. i'll find them and post 'em. if anyone find and ge appliance catalogs from 1970, 1971, or 1972 please let me know.

I've heard that the Kenmore 800 washer is your dream machine, and every time one popped up for sale, I'd been hoping you could get it, now at last, you finally got one-Congratulations, Jason!

This reminds me of a story from my youth.

From my Grandma's attic room, actually. For as long as I can remember there was a little book of bedtime stories up there. They were a bit hokey and moralizing, but the book was one of the things I wanted when she had to move out to a nursing home.

Anyway, here's the first page of the story.
