Manny just brought Norge back from the shop. Needed a few repairs and he painted the cabinet. Works like a charm.

Manny also brought GE filter flo that I bought from him.

Post# 255619-12/21/2007-12:56 ||| westyslantfront (Tucson, Arizona)

Filter Flo came with mini basket and fabric softener dispenser.

Hot damn those are fabulous! Between the hospitality, the good people and the machines, I'm gonna have to get me invited again!

Will you make videos or pictures of the stuff when you are washing it? How does the GE Filter-Flo Mini-Basket work?

Post# 255680-12/21/2007-21:03 ||| westyslantfront (Tucson, Arizona)

Hi Funguy. Sorry but I do not have a video camera.
As for the mini basket, when it is placed over the agitator, the water level is set for mini basket and the water comes into the main wash tub up just above the bottom of the mini basket. There are very small drain holes in the bottom of the mini basket. When the washer starts agitating, the water flows into the mini basket and fills it up. There are also holes at the top of the mini basket so as it agitates, water also comes out of the top of the mini basket. When the washer spins, the water exits the mini basket from the holes at the top.

Why would you need to have a mini-basket? So you can't video the cycles? Could you take pictures?

Post# 255753-12/22/2007-09:16 ||| gregm (MA)

Santa came early

Great machines, Ross. The Norge looks great. I hope it runs as good as it looks. The GE mini basket was a great idea, I thought. I had one for a short time and found that I used it many times.

Good luck with both of these fine machines.

And have a great holiday.

Beautiful paint Job

on your 'Noge! Was wondering how much "Manny" charges to paint a cabinet? I know that I have paid anywhere from 175 to 400 before depending on the rust and corrosion issues.

Back at your last wash-in, was "Manny" there to speak with all the washer folks that attended? I know that in one of your posts you said that he was going to be there and was looking forward to see all these folks, or something to that effect. Just wondered as I have never heard one way or the other. Maybe he would have been scared to be around all that knowledge......... YA Think? LOL

Have fun!

The Norge looks great Ross - time to enjoy it now that it is back home! The GE looks good too - time to get some lint out of the towels -

Oh my God I'm in love with that Norge Timeline! Am hoping to add a 50s Norge to my collection (currently have a '64 Norge and '73 Wards Signature washer but am in search of something older!)

why a mini-basket?

a mini-basket allowed the user to wash very small loads, such as one or two shirts or a lot of "dainties".
