I guess I have been under my rock for too long....(LOL)

I do not have any experience with any of the high efficiency top load washers… I'm pretty sure someone out there in washerland has at least one. How well do they work compared to other H.E. machines (TLer or FLer), and does anyone have any video of their machines in operation?? I'd love to be able to see them going through all the motions!

On another note, I've noticed in other posts mention was made of normal TL direct drive machines.... does that mean no transmission, or only no belts?? And how long have they been making them??

Thanks to all in advance!!

Here are my videos of my Kenmore Oasis HE. I have several playlists of complete cycles as well.

Enjoy!

I got 3 questions,

Is this washer gentler than a frontloader?
Does the "agi" model have as good rollover?
Is the cabrio cousin just as good as this one?

Thanks :p

1. I wouldn't say that this machine is gentler than a front loader, but it is gentler than say a regular top loader.
2. I am also curious to know if the rollover is the same on the agitator model, as I've never seen one before
3. The Cabrio is mechanically identical, with minor cycle and programming differences.

HTH!

I have questions too!

First, Jonathan thank you for posting the link!! That reverse-rollover was interesting and very surprising to see!

OK, questions....

1. I noticed some of the water fills the tub slowly rotated and some did not. Why?

2. Can you control the water level or is it completely automatic based on the load the machine "senses"?

3. I think I read in some other thread, Whirlpool (Kenmore, etc) approached/worked with Fisher & Paykel so they could get their own H.E top load washer to market much more quickly (as opposed to designing one of their own), true?

4. In watching your videos, the Oasis seems VERY similier in operation to the Fisher & Paykel machine. Is it possible the the Oasis/Cabrio twins are just reskinned Fisher & Paykel machines with a different (more flat) agitator??

Thanks again!!!

Does anyone have anything (info/video) on the GE Harmony??

1. Some of the cycles just fill through the dispenser, then shower the clothes via recirculation while some fill through both dispenser and center valve and revolve the tub.

2. You cannot control the water level its completely automatic

3. Yes

4. The fisher & Paykel models are almost identical, same moter etc, just use a true agitator just like the "Agi" models of the Cabrio/Oasis.

Robert has a video of the Harmony, but its a video of a completely full tub of water, since he tricked the sensor. Some one may have it and can send it to you.

BTW I am the member who has a Cabrio HE!

Jon: I talked to the whirlpool rep a few days ago, Cabrio/Oasis, are 100% identical! Same cycles, same programming! I ran my S&T cycle and re read my last post about it, and its was identical to yours. LOL

Agi-Model

I am anxious to see and hear the agi-model of the Oasis/Cabrio. I haven't heard a peep from anyone who has one, nor have I read any reviews.

Lower-end agitator Cabrio model has manual water level selections. Dunno about Oasis. Is there just one agitator model of each, or more? Vaguely recall Oasis has two agitator models, one with glass lid and one without.

Really? But the Cabrio has the Wool cycle, which is not present on the current Oasis right? I recall the very first revision had the Wool/Delicate cycle, but it was later changed to Sheets/Towels.

I have asked about the agi model too. I would like to hear how these models perform. I especially like them now that the agi version has a glass lid.

We were told that the agitator version of the Cabrio has to fill with more water than the wash disk model so it's not as energy efficient.
