Reading a few threads, and i also see the link between Indesit and Colston Ariston. My mom had a Colston Concorde twin tub and my nan had the Colston Coronet (slightly smaller) bought in 1975 (when my parents married)---(and does anyone have one of these?)They where basicly the same as the Rolls twin as owned by chestermike. But only a few years ago i saw an `Ariston' badged twin tub outside `Sellwoods' on Hessle Rd in Hull (my home city, plus this shop does EVERTHING from wash tongs to HDML pumps to fully recon Servis, Hotpoint, English Electric and Hoover twin tubs).I do remember (back in the 80's when my mom started out on her first of many autos)she had an Indesit auto with the soap drawer and controls on top, VERY similar lettering and controls as the much sought after Colston Commodore (the wierd space ship white thingy covering the door) and the Colston auto washer-dryer she had (see few threads earlier). Anyone thought about a Uk-Wash-In? Would be good for all us Uk guys to meet up somewhere, sort of a `Fanny Cradock Meets The Bio Queens!'... () X

As far as I can gather, Rolls merged with Colston, then went bankrupt. Ariston later came along and snapped up Colston.

Rolls made shavers and fan-heaters. The fan-heater was a free gift to my grandparents, for purchasing the washing machine. 3kiloWatt, with 3 heat settings and cool blow.(The fan-heater was flung out when grandfather moved; I think it had asbestos within it!)
