1963.I was 8 1/2.Decided to plug in '60 Norge washer,no longer in use.Dad bought new Frigidaire Imperial 'cause Norge cacity too small & he wanted a 'G.M.'washer.Well, I found a couple of lamp extention cords, poured buckets of water in & started washin'!My 6 yr old brother was in the vacinity. All was working till she kicked on spin.About the time half the water spin out(max load)the extcord plug BLEW out of the outlet, with a nice POP & puff of smoke!!Mom's "what are you boys doing down there!?" Nothin' ,mom! No real harm, did'nt do that again.

I would have been busted filling a bucket with water inside the house. "What are you doing with water down there?"

I once got busted running the Maytag A206 (located one level down, in the basement) of the 1966 vintage. I was of a similar age.

Mom found me sitting on it, machine luckily "OFF" when she snuck in. She asked "What were those noises?" (The machine).
"Nothing, I was whistling." HA!

She looked at me very strangely and said, "Well stop whistling."

I still get busted taking a peek from time to time. My mom is still the worlds worst for catching me.
