I have never repaired a washer before but I need to now. I have an Amanatag mentioned in the modern forum which my landlord is going to sell, if it lasts another week. In its place I shall be installing my first, and thus far only, vintage washer, a Maytag A208. I have already tested the machine and it runs just fine. I was going to replace the belts before I brought it upstairs because they squeak a little bit and it will be easier to replace them now, than in the laundry room. I just need to know what the part numbers are for the belts so I can go and get the proper ones.
Also, To replace the belts, do I just lean the machine back to releave the tension on the belts?

Your help will be appreciated, with pictures in about a week and a half when I return to Savannah from a vacation,
Dave

Here's a set of what you need since I would replace them both at the same time.
Part #402507 at repairclinic.com for $33.40 plus shpg.

Anymore, the Maytag belts come in a set. Unplug the machine, tilt it back, and replace the belts.
