You should be able to lift the top and reach down in between the tubs to grab it. |

the piece hasn't become wedged in there from the last spin cycle. If it got eaten or chewed up, which is possible, you'll want to replace it - they are easy to find if you have an old junk yard or scrap heap near by. But its important to keep this piece securely inserted into the rubber connetion at the back of the outer tub. Just remember to pull the rubber lip of the splash guard off before you open the top next time. Good luck and let us know how you make out. Here's the location of the spring clips. You can see where the top is just *slightly* indented in the front. |

You need to get it out of there, as you risk the possibility of puncturing the tub boot, which would be decidedly unpleasant. |

Yes...did you raise the entire top assembly, THEN feel around for it? |
