It is very common for a GE/HOTPOINT d/w to leak at the solenoid valve. It will eventually get worse. I beleive the only fix is to replace the motor/pump assembly. Also the "temp boost" stalls the timer by either putting a bimetal switch in the circuit or a thermostat in the door to sense water temp. | ||

Pictures...... I'll take some pictures when I get home this evening for you Bob. Dad had Surgery this morning, all went well. Will be going by the hospital to releave my sis after I get off work at 2:30. Probably be home by 8 or so. | ||

A little later than expected. Hi Bob, All is well with dad. Neurosurgeon is very pleased with how well the surgery went. Dad is fiesty as ever. Should be out of ICU sat. night or sunday morning. Here are the pics. The first button on the left is: Pots and Pans, then normal wash, then light wash.

Tom, that's the model above my old Hotpoint that was installed in 1984 when the house was built. I just never thought they were worth much. Every hotpoint I ever used couldn't deal with rice when they were fully loaded, or any other starchy stuff. It all got sent to the glasses and stuck there. I ripped it out for my current GE. It holds more and is quieter. The guy that installed it for me said he could hear the larger pump motor, and he did look and compare their sizes, and could hear a difference in cleaning performance. I sold the old Hotpoint to a friend of mine at work who couldn't care less if it cleaned or not, she just liked the all-black look--mine had the black panels exposed.
