General Motors sold off the Frigidaire appliance line to White Consolidated around 1979 or '80. The appliance line then became a twin of the White-Westinghouse line. In the mid 80's, the Frigidaire brand was sold again, this time to Electrolux, who owns it to this day. Unfortunately, the classic Frigidaire pulsating wash action is gone forever. Today's machines are Frigidaire in name only; they have nothing else in common with their highly-esteemed vintage lineage. |

Seems as though there are several name brand and off brand models that sport that swirlly or tornado like "shredmore" kind of an agitator in one variation or the other.--Laundry Shark |
