Hi again,

It's great to see all the posts on my other thread. Anyway I have a Kenmore belt drive washer that is in a holiday home we bought and are fixing up. The machine works just fine, however it makes a vibrating noise during agitation, and only in agitation. When it shifts into neutral drain and spin no noise. Any ideas what this might be? I should also mention that the shift into agitation makes quite a loud "BUZZZ TICK CLUNK". Is this a sign of wear or can I fix it with lubrication. Please let me know what you think.

Thanks
Liam

PS

Is there a way to tell how old the machine is by the model number, it starts with C110. I will get the whole number for you the next time I am there. I think the C at the beginning is for Canada. By the look of the machine it is from the late 70s or early 80s..

What color is it, if not white?

Well into the 70's at least in the American sold Kenmores
the two digits succeeding the 110. indicated the year produced. This may be true up to the early 80's.
Somebody else will have to diagnose the noise question.

If it has the original"Dual-Action Agitator"which was real noisy,it(the agitator)would make that type of noise.

I should clarify that this is a BOL Kenmore from the late 70s or early 80s with a white RotoSwirl agitator, not the dual action auger type. The funny noise it makes happens only during agitation. It is a constant vibration coming from the works not the washtub. Sometimes the sound is gone or nearly gone by the rinse agitation. I hope this helps in diagnosing the problem.

Thanks
Liam

Hi again,

I finally got the model information off the washing machine. It is a Sears Canada Kenmore Heavy Duty Washer model #C1104510080, made in Canada. Anybody have information on this machine?

Thanks
Liam
