Hi Geoff,

Just wondering, how is your Maytag Porta-Wash coming along? Did you install the new impeller belt and do a maiden load?

Please let us know!

Thanks,
Austin

Hi Austin ...

Thanks for asking! My Maytag porta-washer is really cool. Yes, I got a new neoprene impeller belt and it runs really smoothly. The washing action is very strong ... quite impressive.

I also ordered a new drain hose, but it has yet to come in. The one that is on there now is OK, but it "smells" sort of funny ... even after I've run bleach through. My guess is the people didn't take good care of it.

I'm also awaiting the screws to put the back panel on. I think out of 16 screws, there were only 4 that were on it when I bought the machine. I tried to get some small screws from the hardware store, but the threading isn't quite right and I don't want to screw it up.

All of these parts take time!!

I LOVE the 2000 RPM's on the spinner. The spinner works best with a full load in it. A load from my big Maytag Model E wringer washer is split in half and each spun out for 3 minutes. Dries in no time!! This spinner can also handle my towels and floor mats from my bathroom. Works quite well full.

I still would like to get a belt for the spinner. I have it on order and the local Maytag shop is trying to locate one. If that fails, there is an electric motor service store in town that will either have one, or make one for me. I think that will eliminate some of the suds lock. It suds locks even with 2-3 tablespoons of Tide ... not good. The instruction book even tells you to maintain a good blanket of suds!! Go figure!!

Do we know if anyone from the club got the porta-washer and dryer that were on E-bay a couple of weeks ago? Those are the same coppertone color as mine.

Thanks again for asking ... I should try to get a couple of action shots for you guys!! :-)

Geoff
