A site full of mostly gay men in the closet or out, swooning over campy old washers and dryers. I never thought I'd see the day. Your first reaction might be to delete this thread but I would like to see if you actually have the guts to comment on it.

GET A LIFE!!!

Time for your meds Wishy. It's too bad you wasted all your good behavior credits on this internet website. I guess you'll have to work extra hard dressing yourself and brushing your teeth to earn more, but that's the great thing about institutional living - every 30 minutes is a new day!

wishywashy reminds me of the people who lurk on youtube just to post negative comments about stuff people worked on. They have nothing to offer but negativity, they produce nothing, they contribute nothing. They really have nothing to say.

It's quite sad when you think about it. What a lonely, miserable life. How damaged they must be.

Oh well. No point wasting time on them.

The most popular reacton/response to our sexual endevors from them was "No girl ever did me like that!","Why does it feel better?","How did you learn how to do that?","Doesn't that hurt?"Oh and here we go"Ah,don't tell anybody I sucked your dick,I'm straight."Yea right.

Well now listen everyone, I could be wrong, but I suspect Liamwa is a teenager from Calgary. He appears to know quite a bit about his top loading Frigidaire, more than the "average" person would and so he probably does have a strong interest in washers just like us. I suspect he got angry when I moved his duplicate post from the Imperial Forum to the Deluxe Modern Forum where it belongs. Liamwa we have very few rules around here, but one we do have that I try to be strict about is that posts go into their appropriate forum and unless its very important, the Imperial Forum can only be used for Vintage Washer, Dryer and Dishwasher posts. Most people here I know reads all three forums, so enough members would have seen and responded to your post in the Deluxe forum.

Now if you would like to apologize to all of us, I can delete this post and we all can be friends again, its up to you. We would like you to stay and be a part of our family if you truly have an interest in these machines, but we ask that you do follow our rules and respect all of us here. So it's in your hands now, we hope you decide to stay.

If you think about it....

I actually am a gay man who swoons over campy old washers and dryers. And to outsiders, it could seem a little odd, or even hilarious as the OP says.

But yet, you're the one home on a Saturday night telling us to get a life. Where's yours?

It's great to be surrounded by friends here who also enjoy this past time so much. These machines reflect the spirit of invention and joy of a very special era, which is one of the many reasons we love them. I'm glad I am someone who has the intelligence to appreciate that.

I think this world could do with a few more people swooning over antique washers and dryers and a few less swooning over drugs and weapons.

P.S.- Does the guy who's working 80 hours a week to pay for a house and a Lexus he never gets time to enjoy, married to a woman he seldom gets to see, with kids he doesn't really know, and a honey on the side he would never be seen in public with, have a life?

Washer and Dryers

I grew up wanting to fix everything outside of me, hoping it would fix the unspeakable things inside of me. Machines are fascinating, the sound melodic and the ability to take them apart, FIX them and put it back made me feel manly and proud. I spent 52 years hiding, hating myself and wishing life would end and release me from the never ending prison of self hatred. I got some help and learned more about who I am, how to heal the hurts, insults and shortcomings of a lifetime of ridicule. I may be many things you can't accept or approve of, but here, I am never ridiculed, insulted and made to feel I have to hide who I am and what brings me joy. I am sorry the words used to respond to you were so mean spirited. It makes me feel no better than all the people who ridiculed me, for a lifetime. Please learn who you are and if you feel alone, misunderstood and need support, talk to a counselor and trusted adult. Everyone of us is exactly who we were intended to be by the design of the Universal force from which we come. I wasted a lot of years, miserable, because I couldn't accept that truth. I wish you well in finding what brings you joy.
Kelly

Hello everyone,

I just wanted to apologize to all of you for this ignorant thread. I was having a boring saturday and just thought I'd try to get a rise out of you guys. I did not think however how deeply my comments may hurt you. I had no illusions that someone wouldn't trace my other username and find me out. Kelly thank you for your eloquent words. I know that I am no longer welcome here so I will now log out for the last time and thank you for your wonderful site. I do really love washers and dryers.

PS
The modern Frigidaire is safe. That thread was a bit of a joke as well. Please delete all my threads if you wish.

Perhaps Swishywashy is insecure and wants to hear that that it's ok to like washing machines. Of course it's ok.

I like older appliances/machines/cars/radios & phonos because they were built of quality parts by people and companys that took pride in what they built. I get no satisfaction by using disposable crap.

The worst part of his post was "get a life". You mean watch football? No way!!

Despite it all, kiddo, you are respected for who you are and who you need to be at this point in time.

In life you get as much respect as you give. Sometimes if you meet a truly well-evolved person you get MORE than you have earned. Treasure those who are loving and well-evolved and give, give, give, for they are truly rare.

BORED?
What does this mean? To me it means you don't work enough.
Is your house dusted vacuumed, mopped? Windows sparkling? Garden weeded? Are your closet organized?
Did you call everyone this weekend who was kind to you during the week?
Did you mow, rake and spread necessary chemicals on your lawn?
Did you help your elderly neighbor who is borderline self-sufficient? Did you take them by the hand and squeeze it ans say thank you for their wisdom and attention?
Did you go to the local hospital and volunteer to help?
If you are younger, did you help you mother and father or brothers or sisters or grand-parents today with chores or what THEY need?

Sorry BORED is no excuse for selfish bad bahavior. If you are bored chances are you have a quick mind. Please try to use it for GOOD.

The world is round. All the kindness you give will eventually come back to you 10x over.

I send you light, love, pleace and blessings. Now go forth and SHINE, because you are a unique light unto the world. You are filled with the same love the Creator has built-into all of us.

Stay fabulous. No matter what, you are loved.

It's ironic that the subject of forgiveness would occur during the holiday of the "ultimate act of forgiveness" in the Christian religion.

Liam: for you to visit a special interest forum with the sole purpose of ridiculing its members and their hobby angers me, but shows everyone a small sample of the type of ills plaguing modern society. Deliberately being mean to effect attention, whether positive or negative, is unacceptable. Of course you were going to get a reaction. If you had taken the time to get to know the people on this forum, you would have found that they are all treasures; intelligent, knowledgeable, humourous. You chose instead to prejudge and poke fun.

Your apology is the first step to accepting the consequences of your actions.

I suggest you read Mixfinder's (Kelly) post again. This is the writing of a kind and gentle man who has borne more than his fair share of suffering with dignity and grace. Perhaps you will beome enlightened. To paraphrase Immanuel Kant: "Enlightenment is the liberation of man from his self-incurred immaturity."

As far as sexual orientation Who really cares!! were talking about washing machines!!!! If enjoying washing machines makes me "GAY" oh well so be it its my life I'll live it as I choose and as far as being bored and taking "Stabs" at people you dont even know well sorry dude thats kinda lame. It really doesnt amaze me as to what some people do on this site this site is not exempt from this type of behavoir because basically anyone can log on to it and thats great but some of the drama I see in here can easily be avoided if we simply ignore it...I love this site and im grateful to Robert for maintaining it and To all of you gay or straight who come here have a Happy Easter !!!!!

Hi Liam. I agree with Venus. Today is Easter Sunday and speaking only for myself, I certainly consider it great that you did offer an apology and accept that.
This is coming to you from a gay man who has been fascinated by washing machines since I was a child. I am also active in my church. There needs to be more forgiveness in the world today. If more people lived by the Sermon On The Mount, the world would be a better place. I am not looking to preach to anyone but, we are all Children of God. He loves us for what we are.
We are a great group of people here in this club. I have hosted get togethers in Tucson for the past two years, along with the other club members in Tucson. EVERYONE is welcome and EVERYONE has had a great time.
You are welcome to email me. nycaross@aol.com

Okay, enough said....however one more thing:

Liamwa, apology accepted. Listen my friend, I am a married straight guy with kids and like SaltySam my wife thinks my hobby is a bit left-of-center, but I'm a gadget nut. Anything mechanical from '67 VW Beetles to '67 Rollermatics. I'm sure you see now how you fired these fine people up. Trust me, I've gotten to know a few and they are truly caring individuals, gay or straight, black or white, Catholic, Jewish, Orthodox, etc. I just want you to realize how an off-the-cuff remark can hurt. John Lennon once said, "Love, anything that's love between two people is okay....there is already too much hate in this world." Please remember that. If you truly have an interest in this site and appliances, please stay and enjoy, but consider this a life lesson.

Okay, I'm done preaching. Xristos Anesti everyone!

People of this club and of our hobby! I'm not sure I agree it should be deleted, I think everyone rose to the occasion. This experience actually uplifted my Easter celebration. Overall we will not be Krushed by the life Krusher and on the other hand most of us were ready to forgive a transgressor who has made an attempt to apologize to us.

But remember Liam, apologizing carries no weight without atonening. The two go hand in hand.

I agree

Believe it or not I have been thinking about this all afternoon and was going to post a message to Unimatic that deleting this thread might be a rushed. I agree with Jetcone. By leaving this thread in place could very possibly pull more people together that enjoy our hobby. Which is what this site is about, to bring people together that enjoy the products of years past that were manufactured at a time when pride actually went into building their product. Who knows, maybe, a lot more married men, or gay men for that matter, will be willing to share their passion with the group. I admire the people on here that have a vast knowlegde of the appliances and are willing to share it with others that aren't so knowlegable. I'm one of those people that doesn't have a vast knowledge of applicances and like Davey i too am a gadget nut. I learn from taking things apart and putting them back together again. Ok. I'm going to step off the soap box. lol

JOKE in the spirit of fun, everyone.

Be careful what you say & criticze. You never know what you or your children will become.

OMG ROFL

Apparently Mr. Wilhelm Vonker wanted to Anglicize his name, upon relocation to the English-speaking world.

It was briefly spelled "Wan---" but that proved to be causing too many reactions.

The Pastor's Ass

The pastor entered his donkey in a race and it won. The pastor was so
pleased with the donkey that he entered it in the race again, and it won
again. The local paper read...

PASTOR'S ASS OUT FRONT The Bishop was so upset with this kind of
publicity that he ordered the pastor not to enter the donkey in another
race. The next day, the local paper headline read:

BISHOP SCRATCHES PASTOR'S ASS This was too much for the Bishop, so he
ordered the pastor to get rid of the donkey. The pastor decided to give
it to a nun in a nearby convent The local paper, hearing of the news,
posted the following headline the next day:

NUN HAS BEST ASS IN TOWN The Bishop fainted. He informed the nun that
she would have to get rid of the donkey, so she sold it to a farmer for
$10. The next day the paper read:

NUN SELLS ASS FOR $10 This was too much for the Bishop, so he ordered
the nun to buy back the donkey and lead it to the plains where it could
run wild. The next day the headlines read:

NUN ANNOUNCES HER ASS IS WILD AND FREE Alas, the Bishop was buried the
next day.

MORAL OF THE STORY? Being concerned about public opinion can bring you
much grief and misery and even shorten your life. So, be yourself, take
care of your ass, and enjoy life, stop worrying about everyone else's
ass and you'll live longer and be a lot happier!

Hello:

I'm relatively new here and haven't had much to say so far. But Wishywashy, for you, I suggest that you go immediately to You Tube and search out "The Washers We Love and More" by Unimatic. Watch it. Nothing more needs to be said.

I hope I'm not breaking any rules by mentioning the site. I found the video during a random search and just loved it!

Thanks.

Bruce

WELCOME

The biggest rule here is be nice and be kind, be patient.

The rest are rather logical, reasaonalbe and what you'd expect them to be.

In this forum, if I can speak for the group, we expect your
Ass to be as firmly commited as your mouth, when speaking about the holy grail washers herin.

I am a relatively new member, only 1 month old.

It is most unfortunate that this took place in a community where everybody gets along so well.

I agree with Robert (Unimatic1140), about deleting this thread. At the very least, it should be moved to the Super Forum, where it can be slowly buried under newer threads, and die quietly, as it will not be archived.

Then harmony can be resumed fully.

Peace And Good Cheer,
James

Sometimes, almost never, on this site we seem to color outside the lines with our liberal speech, but then tea always at 3 sharp redeems us from aforementioned or alluded imagery that only becomes us much later in the hours after cocktails, like we were wearing leather jockstaps under our tea gowns.

Sorry for unintentional swearing in the above threads. I think I called the original poster an "asshole" when I meant "astronaut". My bad typo. Darn this keyboard.

Wait, some of the members/posters are gay? You'll have to be much more obviously flamboyant, please. And could any African-American posters/members please write only in Ebonics so we can easily identify you? The Hispanic folks will have to post a Cuban, Mexican, Puerto Rican or whatever flag with each post as well.

This really is hilarious. I have so much fun reading all the posts. It is nice to see that part of the past is being preserved not by some museum where they become useless but by folks who truly love the machines and use them regularly.

"Campy" washers and dryers?

Hmm, I'm going out on a limb but Mr Wishy perhaps you might want use proper English before posting something this stupid. Now perhaps the education system in Alberta is a bit screwy, but I for one would be willing to contribute a few bucks to get this knuckle dragger a thesaurus.

Some of us aren't totally gay, nor do we go on the site much, but its a little curious, why you would want to spend your time posting, just so you could see everyone inform you of your stupidity. I'd guess you are the one in the closet dude.

Your ignorant post did prove one point, Hooked On Phonics does work for ages 4 and up. Have a nice night asshole.

Compassion available in aisle #3. cheap!

Just remember everyone, anger hurts the person experiencing it, not the other party to whom it is directed.
Also it is said that any energy we give out comes back in multiples.

Perhaps it is better to say "I bless you, but I bless you away from me." The more attention we give this person, the more he enjoys it. The opposite of love is not hate, it is apathy. So to withold love, perhaps it is just best to ignore.

Personally to the original poster/ originator of this thread, I say "Come back when you can behave. You will be accepted."
