Well, I was trying to be strong and not go back for the dryer - yes, I left it behind the other day and just brought the washer home - but I caved in and went back for it today. It's really all Ben's fault, he told me it would be more fun to have the set. I hope he has room for them!

The dryer is in pretty good shape - it's a bit noisy, rumble and rattle, but it should be fine with a little TLC - these are fairly simple machines and parts are still around (the house) for them.

In-A-Door Lint Screen

One of the worst ever. Most of the lint got through or around this screen and stuck to the insides of the ductwork, which surrounds the opening of the door (boo!) and ended up outside on the ground. My aunt had this same dryer in a more tasteful color and had to build a box on the ground around the vent to hide the gobs of lint that shot out of it.

Greg,

I'm glad that Ben pushed you into going back for the dryer. As you keep telling the rest of us....one can never have too many matched sets....that should apply to you as well. Nice set!

Stainless Steel drum! (and look - a gob of lint ready to travel to the stem of an unsuspecting rose bush)

Well Greg, I thought that you needed a nice AVOCADO Speed Queen set - and it looks as though we didn't have to twist your arm too much! It will look perfect right next to the push button 'Tags...

Wow, even though this dryer really blows on all accounts, it sure looks as though it is built like a tank! That SS drum sure looks purdy. I've always wondered how effective the door lint filter was on an SQ - I can't wait to get a Shopvac out and cleanup after drying a few wash loads!

Steve, how effective do you think the electrical tape is in shielding 220v? I'm sure it would pass code if it was UL rated.

Ben

Who dares summon the Plug Queen?

Greg: In a word, can you say replace?
Ben: Pass code? not sure, but there are safer options.

What a catch MAZEL-TOV DAHLINK!

Wow, now that's a *safe* cord. *cough*

Greg, Ben is right. You've had such a long run with Harvest Gold, won't it be fun to have an avocado set for awhile? :)

So glad you now have the matched set Greg!! It's funny but after seeing Nate's avocado Kenmore in Tucson I have a new appreciation for it!!

HA! I KNEW you'd be back for that dryer. I was wondering if you'd been by when I went to pick up the stove ;-)

Congratulations! They really do belong together.

Finally I get to see the guts of a SQ! Nice, I bet the clothes slide nicely along on that!

I even like the backsplash too!

I knew it!!! Wonderful to have the matching dryer. I will make sure there is room in my laundry area for this set when I move to Omaha! ;-)

Louis, from what I saw at the appliance store in C.B., you can have the whole house in this color!
