The Norge arrived this morning. I connected it. Aside from a small leak where the water enters the tub, it works great.
I put in a call to Dr. Manny so he will come and give the machine a check up.

Congratulations, Ross! Beautiful machine. The agitator looks different...do you think it is an aftermarket replacement?

Post# 203734 , Reply# 10   4/13/2007 at 18:47 (6,221 days old) by westyslantfront ()

Hi Rich. The agitator and cap are original as I remember them in my aunt's Norges. Roger and Nate are on their way over.

Ross, congratulations on one of your dream machines. It will be fun to play with, and who doesn't love solid tubs? Can't wait to see it in person!

Set up a round of Clorox

Ross,
I am anxious to see it full of hot water and vestiments! I love the deep rumble and occasional clank the Norges make.

What is this?

Our guess is it's the old start relay for the motor. Maybe the motor's been replaced with one that has an integrated start switch of some sort? The wires to this have been disconnected and cut.

It lives up under the top ledge, in the center, underneath the control panel.

(Extra parts? Whatever it is, it can't be all that critical, because the machine works beautifully...)

Beautiful machine Ross! Glad it arrived safe and sound - and working too, how awesome!

The mysterious part is a relay, part of the Safety Spin Stop system. It allows the machine to operate in fill and agitation with the lid open and cut the power to the machine when the lid is raised during spin.

Hi Greg. Thank you. I have placed a bid on the Norge manual.
Roger and Nate just left. The wires to that safety switch had been cut and the machine works ok without it.

Ross, does this machine have the "Turbo Rinse Action to keep white clothes white"? I notice that the cabinet, top, and lid are different shades, I wonder why. Do you plan to refinish the cabinet and lid to be as white as the top?
