Hey guys,

Doing some housekeeping around here and have this GE dryer I brought home a while back. Working condition unknown but the cabinet is in nice shape. Needs the plastic snap-in door catch as the door won't stay closed (note the duct tape in the bottom corner). Free to a good home or it's headed for the curb!

If no one wants this sweet little thing (I'm guessing a 1958 DA550S-third or second from BOL) as it is, would you consider surgically removing and sending me the control panel? I will gladly pay what you want for it plus shipping.

Oh Lordy - don't trash it yet! Let me give consideration as to how I could get it to Atlanta. I think it's a 1957, as I think that was the only year GE put the dryer timer on the left end of the console. Love the simplicity!

I meant to say 1959. "S" models were 1959 and it appears GE had a few 650/620P models leftover from 1957 with the dial on the left hand side that filtered into 1958 "R" series models and looks like even a few left-over into 1959 "S" series.
This DA620P:

...becomes this DA 620R:

...which then becomes what I'm betting is/was DA 620S until the parts were used up:

...or they badged it a DA 520S. Please excuse my ranting, I don't know why I'm so obsessed with this, I just am. Thank you Steve D for your help and PDF files. Long live vintage GE's!
