Hi there. I have an Elektro-helios Condensor dryer that is about 1 and a half year approx. I have rinsed and cleaned the condensor well and always empty the water collector, cleaned the lint filter.etc.

yesterday i was doing laundry and the first wash and drying was running smoothly. On the second dry however the dryer f****ed up big time.

When you start the machine it beeps, to make you know it has started. In the end its also beeping so you can turn it off.

If anything abnormal happens (if you forgot empty the water collector, Lint filter or whatever)it does this beep "tune". It almost sounds like the start/end one but is more "faster".

Anyway, i started the dryer for the second load and it started like it should. Going into the living room to watch some movie. 10-15 minutes later i hear the dryer starting this "faster" beep. Get in there. The lamp for full water collector is flashing.

Checking it out. Of course it was empty because i had removed the water before this load. Putting the collector inside again and starting the machine.

Nearly 8 minutes later it starts beeping again. This time the overheat AND full water lamp flashes. Right... Checking the lint filter and AGAIN the water collector. Starting dryer again.

This time it stayed on about 20 minutes. Then it beeps and the end lamp flashes plus the overheat and full collector lamps.

Now the clothes was almost dry but i checked the filter and put it on again. This final time it the dryer didnt stop until the clothes was dry.

I have dried a small load in it today without any problems. I wonder what it was doing yesterday. Bad day maybe? What do you think?

If it is the same dryer as the Zanussi TDC 665E, it is a crappy dryer! Those are eating electronic cards! Lots of them here in Norway. Check that the pump is free of lint and so, and if it doesent have a pump, is it the electronic that is the fault. I had the same machine here for some time ago, and it did excactly the same. I replaced a "new-used" electrnic, and then it was fine again.

Good luck:-)

Condenser Unit...

These have to be taken out (they are those finned, aluminium boxes) and flushed out under a fast-flowing tap, until all stray lint and fluff are thoroughly removed.

Failure to clean the condenser unit regularly, will result in the driers safety thermostats/fuses blowing.
