I know some people here dont like Hoover Candy but personally IMHO I think that it is great how Candy really have positioned Hoover as a feature brand.

One the Italian Hoover site they have the new Vision Vortmax.

I was just wondering the other day with machines like the Aqualtis and such, that capacities and door openings on standard dimension front loaders cant get any bigger but Hoover is claiming 9kg's for the Vortmax.

What do you mean by this Arrrooohhh? Your pleased that hoovers not what it was? I'm not. Though their current offerings are way better than anything they brought out under candy influence.

Interesting the Vortmax. It seems when hoover-candy release a range they start with a white door, then get upgraded slightly with the chrome doors and a few extra features when they do the next range! Though i like the chrome doors!

I wonder how genuine the capacity is. I mean like you say, they is only so much that can be done within a standard cabinet size!

I didnt mean for this to come across as negative. I'm a huge hoover fan. Always have, Always will. But i feel the takeover couldn't have come at a worse time. Hoover always made innovative, stylish, great performing machines, and with the takeover there was alot of negativity thrown at hoover because of poor reliability. Don't get me wrong Hoovers went wrong on their own. But when you inject abit of candy into it, it doesn't help matters.

So yea before anyone took that wrong i didnt mean for it to come across negatively. I was just trying to get abit of expansion on arrrooohhh's point of view:D

Hoover Vortmax Logo...

...has the "Triple Vortex swirl" from THAT vacuum cleaner.

Interesting machines, I think Candy is paying a bit more attention to design now. Do I spy a few Bosch/Siemens drum 'bumps' in the new "Vortmax"?

I like the look of the new Hoover Dishwasher, and the new "Freemotion" cylinder cleaner.

When is the UK going to get them?

Well it could always be worse.

Consider what happened to Hoover in Australia. Hoover Australia was sold off to pay for that disasterous airline ticket promotion in the UK. That was okay because the new company, Southcorp kept the Hoover factory in Meadowbank in Sydney and they still manufactured the same line of washing machines.

Then Southcorp decided to get out of whitegoods and sold out to archrival Email who manufactured Simpson and Westinghouse. Emails plan was to have Hoover and Simpson just for laundry and Westinghouse and Chef for cooking and Westinghouse and Kelvinator for refrigeration. However Email closed the Meadowbank factory that made Hoover and they became Simpsons inside with the Hoover body on the outside.

Then a few laters Email was taken over by Electrolux and they dumped many of the brand names in a simplified plan to have Simpson as its value brand, Westinghouse as its feature brand and Electrolux as the delux brand. Hoover washing machines are no longer sold in Australia. Even worse, Electrolux has closed the Simpson factory in Adelaide and now Simpsons and Westinghouses are all going to be imported Electrolux products.

However In the UK Hoover is still a feature brand positioned somewhat above Candy. It has an even greater presence in continental Europe. They have made interesting machines still like the first and second Vision. The Six/Seven range and Nextra are still nice looking machines. So while we may all miss the old Hoover and their simple and unique square door front loaders, at least Hoover is alive and still interesting us while Hoover is dead and gone in Australia.

Interestingly Maytag has sold Hoover frontloaders in Australia badged as Maytag. I have one and its been a great washing machine that washes quickly and has a power jet too for some added drama. Now that Maytag is owned by Whirlpool who knows what would happen but if Hoover was to sell its range of washers in Australia again there are plenty of people who would buy them.

Arrrooohhh, interesting what you wrote. I do agree. they could be alot worse. I just feel i was robbed of a few more years of innovative products!

I remember seeing your hootag on here before, i had a similar version while living with an ex partner and it never went wrong while i lived there.

So i dont have any first hand experience of why the current ones are labelled "crap" "unreliable" i was fairly impressed with it. the 1600rpm was way quieter than my hoovers at home lol.

Im still toying with buying a nextra..and from islingtonsteves pics and videos i've seen of his vision, they do look rather fun! I wonder if the vortmax will make it out in the next hoover range here. which im guessing will be may/june time as it usually is for them.
