Does anyone have any information on the Hoover Hydro Dryer, 8KG model.

Seems like an interesting appliance.

Hoover Hydro Dryer

Yes it is basically a condenser dryer but instead of a heat exchanger it uses cold water cooling, for this reason it has to be plumbed like a washer with cold water and waste.
One big advantage is no heating of the room this can be an issue with condenser dryers.

dryer

My 1957 Philco Bendix Duomatic uses the same type drying system, cool water runs on the outside drum into the lint filter and down the drain, neat machine

Hi Kim! *WAVES*

Anyone have any pics or greater details on the Bendix system?

8 kg = 17.6 lbs. Would anyone know the cabinet dimesions on the referenced Hoover Dryer. It has to be larger than 60cm square (24 x 24").

The Hoover Hydro Dryer is 60cm square.

The 8 kg capacity is just marketing - the Hoover dryer drums are identical in size whether its rated as 6 or 8 kilos.

Quite correct @ Jon ;)

The only difference is the timer on the manual machines has a 8kg section(140-165 mins!!!!!!).

Same with Creda and Hotpoint Dryers- the Creda vented are 5kg and the Hotpoint claim 6kg, the condenser Creda is 6kg and the Hottie is 7kg

Just takes longer to dry and creases more :(
