when I dump my dehumidifier water into the Hoover twin tub. I discovered this today. I thought I might as well keep all that water that was otherwise going down the drain. Perfect timing for the weekly laundry, as it takes a week to fill the twin tub.

I put in a cap full of Wisk regular, closed the lid. Within a minute or two, the suds were inching up from under the lid! Very fun! I was able to wash 4 piles of laundry before the detergent died out.

Anyways, after all the laundry was done, I couldn't believe how soft everything was. Even jeans and heavier cottons were quite soft. Who knew my dehumidifier would become part of my laundry routine!

Well It Would, Wouldn't It?

Such "soft" water is free of hard water minerals, and thus will result in much softer feeling laundry. This is very more true when one uses liquid detergents which by nature wash softer due to their lack of sodium carbonate and other alkaline chemicals.
