Well, this weeks lessons is on pump pulleys for the quick pack Kenmores of yester year. Apparently when you used to buy a new pump for a Whirlpool belter you'd get 3 different pulleys, one for the 'regular' machine, one for the quiet pack, and one plastic one for what I think is the convertible?

Anyway, we got a new pump pulley (for the thin belt style machines) to go on our new pump, along with a new filter, side check valve and a new belt. Let me tell you this thing drains nice and quick now, it actually gets almost a minute of freewheeling with no water before the spin, and talk about detergent dispenser, whoa.

Anyway, now we all know about the different pulleys on these beauties, and my green baby can drain off into the sunset.

Steven

That's unusual, that they give you the different pulleys. But then, I have a stash of used pumps that I use when needed, it's been years since I purchased a new one.

Congrats on getting that machine to drain properly! And I didn't even think about how it would affect the detergent dispenser!
