This weekend I found a Maytag washer in absolute great shape (clean to the point of only needing a wipe down with a wet cloth, all parts in place, etc.) at a thrift store....they are asking 80 bucks for it but wanted to ask someone here about age, washability, etc. The machine is similar to the one shown in Thread 11862 except it has the push buttons for the water levels (3 maybe 4 levels), extra large capacity, and the agitator is the old standard flex vane. If someone would be so kind to perhaps post a model # and any experience you might have had. Good price for this machine or should I talk them down? Thanks for any help!!

You can find the model and serial number either under the lid in the back-right corner of the opening, or if it's older, on the back near the water hose connections.

Sorry...

It is in this forum and at this time right below this post. (Maytag W/D in AZ). I did not notice any model or serial number decal near or on the lid or lid opening..in fact I did notice that there was no instructions on the lid..just painted white like the rest of the machine.

No model number yet.....but...

I have decided to get this machine. Cannot pass this up...to nice a machine no matter how old. What year did Maytag start making them with the timer on the right side of the machine?
