I saw them at the KBIS and was very impressed on their design and performance.the new models are going to have window lids as well as a 1000 rpm spin.If you look close at their dryers(which are extraordinary due to their hamper doors)closely, you'll notice they are definately contracted out to Electrolux(Frigidaire)and not that big inside.

Carl -

Do you know anyone in the Orlando area who is a Haier dealer who will be carrying their machines? I've seen some at Appliance Direct on 436 and in Union Park from time to time, but nowhere else. Might be interesting to see these in person when they're available.

Haier double drive

Haier have this machine here in Australia also, they call it the double drive, it is very expensive something like $1400.00 Australian dollars, although it does come with a fully comprehensive 10 year warranty which covers service parts and labor costs, I suspect however you really are paying for the warranty with the price tag
It was covered by Choice magazine in their recent consumer tests and it did not fair too badly, for what I remember it was reasonably gentle on clothes, had quick cycles but was a bit of a water guzzler.
Hope this helps out a little bit.
P.S.I would be curious to know,is Haier regarded as a quality brand in the U.S.A.? or is it considered a cheap, nasty brand.
I am not sure how they really fare down here, as they have only been here for a few years that I am aware of, although to date I have no complaints about the twinnie.
Cheers guys
Steve.

Right now I think they're cheap and nasty, but they may be on the turn. LG started out the same way here and now they are quite high end.
