well, at least the lighted console. When I removed the back of the backsplash, I checked the flourescent lamp and starter (which is even says Frigidaire on it) and they seem okay. The ballast on the other hand looks like it has come apart. Does anyone know where i can find the ballast before I do a retrofit?

Any electrical supply or lighting store will have these. You may even try a local Ace Hardware, etc. They are very common. Take the old one with you if you need help explaining what it is and used for. It may look a little different but it will work just the same.

Awesome, so there isn't anything really special about it. Black wire in...black wire out.
