they are giving a lot for scrap

you can almost get as much for scrap as you can sell things for at used prices ,kinda sad for collectors

Thats the washer to match my Nanas/Grandads Phillips Dryer in ALmond...!!!

Matt!!! Thats the dial we love so much!!!! and awww the little aluminium dial for spin which is the Full Sun/Half Sun temp selection. These machines matched so well.
Even down to the same square door release catch.
The was a square door version of the dryer and a round door, my Grandad has the round door version.

Seamus now save it PLEASE!!!!! we can re spray the washer Almond to match the dryer.

This is the type of machine that made Philips renowned in the UK as a dependable washer manufacturer....

This one had the Polypropelyne drum and Permag motor, both with 10yr guarantee, it also spun with a tub full of water to aid balancing, along with variable spin, the 3 compartment dispenser was quite deep and solid with an excellent spray action, stacked with a matching dryer these where a class act....I sold enough of these to win holiday vouchers for my first trip to Skiathos whilst working at Trident in the 80`s...

Seamus, I bet you could make as much profit as some new machines selling these on flebay...LOl

Cheers, Mike

Its the same as the dryer my gran, as rob already hinted, i love the dryer, built like a tank and is still going after what must be 20 years. Starnge coz i'm looking for the numbers around the dial and the little full sun half sun thing on the mini dial, so strange. They would look cute together as a pair.
*Waves at rob*
Matt
I found the matching dishwasher on ebay some time ago, same style dial as well, imagine having the full set in your kitchen, bliss.

Unfortunatly the scrap guys came shortly after the pic was taken!.

It did have a fair bit of rust on the back panel etc that would have needed sorting.

If id had the space .....

Seamus!
Im hoping it wasnt functioning when it was taken away. Alas it saddens me to think that in circumstances like this the machines we love will start to fade to nothing but memorys.

Keep hold of ur vintage machines guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
