I have the Cabrio with agi and I want to see what is going on inside. They don't sell the glass lid Cabrio in Canada.

Anyone out there know how to open it up safely?

lid lock

magnets on the lid lock a few of them or one powerful one that should do the trick.

Here is my video demonstration:

Magnet must be pretty powerful to work. That magnet used was from a 6.5" car speaker

Cabrioasis

Get a magnet set at Radio Shack

Put it next to the lid lock on the front of the machine.

Start a cycle

As soon as the lid lock pops out, push it back in a little bit until the lid lock light comes on.

Enjoy.

Thanks everyone. VERY informative. The video and step by step instructions from jasonl are great. Haven't tried it yet as I must purchase a really strong magnet.

Thanks bobbyd321 for the video but I already owned the Cabrio without agitator and glass lid so I watched it plenty! I traded it after 6 months of use to a Cabrio with agitator and it has a solid lid. I just wanted to see it in action. It sounds EXACTLY like the old Cabrio I had.

And to be honset my 2 year old misses watching the clothes go around and around. Now when I watch videos of other people washing, he gets soooo excited! Have I passed on my love of appliances to my little boy? We even stop to look at all the washing machines every time we are at a store that sells them!

Take care and thanks everyone.
