As I'm getting things ready for the Northland Wash-in on Saturday night, I just did a count. I now have a new record for the amount machines hooked up and ready to go in my house, I've never had so many before:

25 Automatic Washers
2 Combination Washer/Dryers
1 Wringer Washer
5 Dryers
4 Dishwashers

37 Machines, 34 of them vintage.

I'm off to bed now, boy am I tired.

Congratulations!!! We're all happy for you! Another record: Isn't this the first major wash-in you will have had in your new basement??

Can't wait to see the pictures!

Re: Congrats, Robert:

Hi! Robert, "Congrats" on your Victory of Operating Machines of your Collection. I've figured out that 2 of the 3 Machines, not being Vintage are your Harmony Set, but I'm not sure what the other Machine is!!! Please refresh mine and maybe some others memories of what the other Machine is...

Peace and Happiness, Steve

Sorry to hear you're so agitated about the cycles you've been going thru recently.Maybe during your wash-in you should get together with some of the visiters and go for a spin!Maybe that way you'll cool-down a bit. Then you can relax and go into your Westinghouse.

Check the pics again! The 3rd washer's name begins with an A...

Re: Westytoploader:

Hi! Westytoploader, I did look back after reading your Thread, although I had thought of a few different Brands than what you "Hinted Around" with starting with an "A" until I did go back to check again. Thanks, I had forgotten for sure what Roberts other "Non-Vintage" Machine was.

Now, I'm curious as to actually how young/old that Asko is? It looks like a Model from the early 1990s, when I had first learned about them and Miele's, thru some Appliance Salesmen Friends. We used to have a Department Store out in the North Area called: Whole Earth Access. It had Foreign and Domestic Appliances, besides a lot of great Home Decor Idea items and some Furniture.

They also had some collectible "AIDS" Plates and Mug's, with the Red AIDS Ribbon on the edge of the Plates and one side of the Mug's. When they discontinued them, I found them at Macy's, but we had to drive to San Francisco {approx: 1 1/2 hour drive} to go to a much larger Macy's to get some more of the Plates and Mugs, for the collection.

Sorry to get off topic, but it fit because of the home decorating info about the Whole Earth Access Store...

Peace and Happiness, Steve

5 dryers & 2 combos

Robert are all those dryers and combos ELECTRIC? If they are, you must have one hell of a service entrance for power! At 30 amps apiece, that would be 210 amps for the dryers and combos alone, not to mention the washers and the rest of the house (also assuming you don't have an electric range, which is another 50 amps). Can I safely assume some of them are gas?

Wash-o-rama

Robert:

Would love to hear the sounds of all those machines running at once. Happy washing!! Wish we could be there :-)

Hi Everyone, Steve I have no idea when that modern machine that begins with A is from, I suspect sometime in the 90's.

Kenmore1978 Both Combos and four of the dryers are electric, one of the dryers is gas. I have 200AMP service.

200 amp service

I guess would mean you could only run 3 dryers/combos simultaneously in order to leave a "margin". Wow. When things are really going, that little wheel in the meter probably looks like it's going to fly out and cut off somebody's head :-)

Robert, how many can you run at once?
Good luck with the wash-in
Jerry

I stand corrected

200 amp service means you could REALLY draw 400 amps (200 each side of the main breaker). 2 electric combos and 4 electric dryers would draw 180 amps, but that would be split by 2, 90 amps on each side of the 200 amp main breaker. So you COULD run them al simultaneously. Of course, this also assumes that the rest of load of the house is distributed evenly on either side of the 200 amp breaker.

As for the gas dryer, did you plumb a line just for it where it sits, or did you set up multiple gas outlets in the basement in case you wanted to re-arrange machines or end up acquireing other gas dryers?
