I'm thinking that when you picked up your DI-59 you got this set at an appliance store while on your trip. This kind of thing really does pay off. I just wish I could help you out with an agitator for your WO-65. Mine was also replaced with a 3 ring agitator and the WI-56 I got from Mrs. Revak also had the original agitator replaced but with a jet cone agitator. It did make for some interesteing wash action though. Do the washer and dryer both work? Good luck with your search for the agitator. Rich |

Graham, Did you tell the story of this washer somewhere else? If not, fill us in. Where did you get it, what model is it etc. Thanks, Martin |

WOW, Graham once again congratulations! You are just on Fire, you go boy! You remind me of how I was when I first started collecting automatic washers back in 1996. For three years I was constantly on the go calling stores all over the 4 state region, placing newspaper ads, driving all over looking for parts and machines and I was quite successful, but as you know it takes A LOT of work! Do you know the operating condition of your Unimatic? As for the agitator, a Unimatic agitator is really made up of a bunch a parts put together into one unit. You have to be careful which pulsator you use (because there were three tub designs during that period) otherwise it wont work properly and in the worse case scenario it can hit the bottom of the tub causing a huge strain on the motor and transmission. It appears from the picture that your washer is a WO-65-2 model, but I really can’t tell for sure because it is a small picture. It looks like the only parts that are missing from your agitator are the Lint Chaser Ring (or as it was called then Splasher Ring) and Detergent Cap. Here is some part information that might help for both models. By the way the main difference between the WO-65 (1950 & 1951) and the WO-65-2 (1952-1954) was that the WO-65 had two full deep rinses and the WO-65-2 had a new tub design and one deep rinse with overflow rinses. If you look at the tub designs at the bottom of the chart you can see a big difference around the outer rim. The earlier tub isn't designed to carry away lint during an overflow rinse like the later tub design. |
