This arrived Fri, needs to be cleaned up and painted white and it will be very fun to have around. I have two questions. Does anyone have the owners manual that I could make a copy of? Also, I noticed the upper spray arm has the cap missing. Won't work too well with the water hitting the door and nothing in the upper rack! Any suggestions on what might work? If anyone knows a part # or an extra it would be very much appreciated! Thanks, Don

Hi Don, ohh thats fun! What is the model #, maybe we can get the parts list on the Sears web site?

Do I "see" plexiglass in your future?

Another great dw find!!

Don:

What a great find! How did you know that I was looking for a top loader? LOL

Hope you get everything working and give us a pic of her in action (with her plexiglass top, of course).

Hi Don! I had a dishwasher in the first appartment that I rented years ago like the one shown. The cap was also missing on that one. I remember using the cap from a bottle of Wisk! Of course those bottles would most likely be hard to find nowadays, but then some other bottle cap just might work. The one I used was there when I left the appartment 3 years later and worked fine. jet action

Try the pvc area at home depot, If Sears doesnt have your cap. They hopefully have something you can get by with. Thats a nice dishwasher.

It's HUGE!! Was this the super-size version? ;-)

You'll have to try all the bottle caps in the house, if that doesn't work, you can always epoxy a piece of plastic to the end of the tube. Something will work, I'm sure.

Congrats Don - I can't wait to play with it, just like being 10 again!

Would you mind bringing this to the Convention? ;-)

A cap from a bottle of wisk,,,, thanks for the tip, I will try to find one see how it goes. Yes Robert, I think I have graduated to plexiglass-do you have a McCalls Pattern I can borrow??? This is off ebay, paid hardly nothing for it, was in a house that new owners took out in Michagan. I will have to work on getting the pic smaller, this is the first one I have posted. I loved this dishwasher when I was in my early 20's, used it as a renter..let's see, that would be going on 4-5 years ago right? LOL

You wouldn't want to epoxy a cap onto the tube, it's meant to screw off in order to clean the spray holes if they get clogged. On the earlier models like my 1962, the whole spray tube came off for cleaning.

I'm curious to see if the part is still available from Sears. Sometimes they surprise you with what's still available. In any case, you'd at least get a part number to use when searching independent parts places.
