Defintely a full load of dishes! No space wasted!
But why did you put two detergent tabs?

Post# 225890 , Reply# 7   7/29/2007 at 06:52 (6,087 days old) by lavamat78800 ()

At the moment I´m using Calgonit Tabletinos.
Tabletinos are Mini-Tabs for a better dosage.
1 Tabletino: less dirty dishes
2 Tabletino: normal dirty dishes
3 Tabletino very dirty dishes.

Paper sticker?

Nino, in the upper rack, is there a marmalade glass jar still with the paper sticker on? When I want to keep an empty jar before loading it in the dishwasher I soak it overnight so the paper sticker will come off. If the sticker comes off during the wash, which will most probably ocurr, it can clog the dishwasher.

Yes there is a sticker on the glass;-)
I always put the glasses in the diswahser without replacing the stickers, never had problems, the stickers fall down and lay on the tub, never had any clog.

I have an AEG Öko Favorit 6060, an older model. Three years ago I made these pictures.

Nino,

I think my dishwasher is from 1996, perhaps late 1995.

My coffee cups have a somewhat different ear I think. I bought them many years ago at the Hema, which is a Dutch department store. I just had a look, it's Kronester, Bavaria.

There are some tea cups too, under the coffee cup on this side, those are from Ikea, the 365+ stuff.

Well, so we have the same cups, my cups are also of the 365+ suff;)
I think my aunt has the same diswasher as you :)

Ah, I had a better look, but your cups are the smaller coffee ones, I have the bigger tea cups, you know, the bath tub sized ones. LOL.

Here's a scan of the 6060 in the 1996 AEG dishwasher brochure.

Oh, I have the bigger tea cups too, really like them.

Yes, I like them too. Friends of mine had rather big tea cups and when they came over to me they complained all the time about the size of mine. So I went to Ikea and bought the 365+ ones. Now I am the one complaining. LOL

Back to dishwashers again, is the 6060 the one your aunt has?

Post# 225955 , Reply# 18   7/29/2007 at 11:22 (6,087 days old) by lavamat78800 ()

LOL

The diswahser isn´t the same one my aunt has, but my mothers friend has a simillar one.
Are you pleased with it?

Most of the time I am pleased with it, but sometimes it has it quirks with cleaning. I guess it is because this is one of the early dishwashers that is rather frugal with water, but they didn't adjust the cycle time for that matter. I got this one after I had continuous problems with an AEG Öko Favorit 581. A few years ago the fan broke down but I didn't had it repaired, the drying performance is still good. It's an OK dishwasher, I don't have plans to replace it.

Post# 225973 , Reply# 20   7/29/2007 at 12:27 (6,087 days old) by lavamat78800 ()

Well, I like mine too.
But sometimes it uses too few water, also at that cycle when theses photos were taken, I notice it when coffeepowder is all over the dishes.
The fan sometimes is making bizarre noises, hopefully it doesn´t break.
Before that dishwasher I had a 24 year old by AEG with continious problems too, it really washed bad:(

My fan never made weird noises, it just missed the sound it made sometime.

I'll stick with this dishwasher as long as it works, but after that I'll try a different brand. Perhaps Bosch/Siemens or if I have the money a Miele.

Post# 225981 , Reply# 22   7/29/2007 at 12:57 (6,087 days old) by lavamat78800 ()

I´m a bit amazed of my AEG it runs in average 1,5 times per day and works perfectly, I know many people who have problems with AEG after 5 years.
If mine would break I would test Fagor or Bosch/Siemens, I really like VarioSpeed because some new diswashers need 135 min for an ECO-cycle, thats somehow too much time!
Fagors are very quick too, they only need 75 min for an intensive cycle.

Time is not a problem for me, I use mine only every 2 or 3 days. Aren't the cheaper Bosch/Siemens machines Fagor machines in disguise anyway?

I don´t really understand what you mean??
Do you think that Fagor are made by Bosch/Siemens?

No, the other way around. The cheaper Bosch/Siemens machines are made by Fagor IIRC.

Well, I think you´re right!
Fagor has his manifacture in Spania, the cheaper Bosch´s/Siemens´s are produced in Spania too.
Does anybody know more about Fagor?

I had a look at www.ciao.de..., but there are no reviews yet I believe. I should have a closer look.

I noticed the new Bosch and Siemens toploaders are also built by Fagor. I would love to play for a while with such a toploader.

Post# 226005 , Reply# 30   7/29/2007 at 15:54 (6,087 days old) by lavamat78800 ()

Yes, the toploaders by Bosch and Siemens are bulit by Fagor too.
The cheaper frontloaders are produced in Poland.

No, I don´t know who builts them, but the cheaper ones are built in Poland
The Bosch wit 10 kg capacity is built in the USA.
All Bosch top of range washers are built by themselves here in Germany.

I've seen the Bosch 10kg machine overhere a few times too. But what I find really silly is that they don't sell the dryer here. I had a look at the German Bosch website and it isn't there either. I wonder what the reason behind that is, if you have such an enormous washer (according to European standards) you probably want a matching dryer as well. I would hate to divide that load in two to get my laundry dried in a dryer that doesn't match the capacity of the washer. Or line dry a big load like that...
