Today one of my neighbours told me he had a package for me. It came from Canada.... BTW, the pictures are a bit blurry, the batteries of my digital camera were empty so I had to make these with my cellphone.

Here is a close up of the controls. Thank you, thank you, thank you Eddy for sending this to me. He recently told me that the washer died and I was a bit sad about that news. What an awesome thing to do Eddy, you're the greatest!!!

How sweet Eddy! Now all you need is the agitator Louis and you can play Speed Queen in the bath tub!

I used to play with the Filter-Flo lint filter and some tupperware when I took baths as a small child. :-) Much more fun than any toys.

That's a very handsome control panel. The pastel colors on the dial are excellent. I love that Speed Queen called their fast speed 'Brisk'. What year is that?

Beautiful panel, Louis! That was very sweet of you Eddy - his favorite American washer. I have a couple of things to send out to Louis as well, but this summer has been so crazy with work, getting ready for the upcoming wash-in and the kitchen remodel that I've not had time to get any "little" things done at all! Oh, did I mention the 13-year old? No rest for the wicked!

Is the dial backlit? Electrify it! Then you can set it to run cycles!

What a cool gift!

You know, it's neat to see that even though the washer died, it can still bring the memories back just from the control panel! My Mom had one just like this and I know that Robert (Unimatic1140) has one in his basement! Good going! - Mike

Thanks y'all! I'm really having fun playing with it. Whenevery I start a load of laundry in one of my machines I set an equivalent of the cycle on this control panel. I also have a video of the machine. It's indeed my favourite American washer, I liked Speed Queens from the beginning, especially the long stroke of the agi.

IIRC Robert's machine went to a member in the South, not sure to whom. Yes, the dial is lit, I will look into that later.

I already have an agitator, not a Speed Queen, but a Super Rotoswirl, an agitator that got me quite fascinated when I used a commercial Kenmore with one in a hotel I stayed for a while.

I couldn't think of a better place for this control panel so it was my pleasure to send it to you, Louis. Alot of the parts from this machine live on in other Speed Queens I have and even a friend's solenoid SQ in another part of Vancouver. Here's the machine when it was whole....
