They are a very fun set. Everything mechanical seems in perfect shape on the washer. The dryer tumbles and blows well but haven't hooked it up to gas yet. The washer does need a new agitator diaphragm because this one got a little dried out and deformed. Chris sent me one but it turned out to be too small and I think it's for a rollermatic.

I also would LOVE DEARLY to find an agitator cap for this.
Does anyone have one they'd be willing to sell me???

Patrick

Very nice set!

Don't forget to call your Frigidaire ServiceMAN for assistance when moving this machine - only a Frigidaire Man will do!

I love the "Two Extra-Clean Rinses" graphic on the lid - promoting the appliance you've already bought? Sounds like gubbernment work to me ;-)

AWESOME!!!

Those machines are fantastic Patrick. The look to be in perfect shape. But where is the picture of you? HMMMMMM?

As far as the Coppertone set is concerned.....if for whatever reason i decide to part with them they will be yours......

JerseyMike, Frigilux, Northwesty, Easyspindry, & tlee618:

Thanks for the compliments. I feel very lucky to have found these. I had mentioned that I would love to find a set like this to Dick_S in Palm Springs. One thing led to another.

jons1077:

Jon, can't wait for you and Tony to see them in person. They are quite the showstoppers!

gansky1:

Greg, I'm still trying to find the Frigidaire Man in the Yellow Pages. Any ideas on how to find him? I love the wording on the lid too. It's such a sales pitch.

SaltySam:

Mark, Just kidding about the coppertone set but now I've got it in writing. Thank You. They are a fun set and help to diversify the collection. Now all I need is a Unimatic!

Unimatic 1140:

Robert, Thanks for your compliment. Dick_S told me that George (ManorAvenue) in Fresno had this set. George and I worked out a deal and that's how I got them. George was great to work with through the whole process and his utmost concern was that I was happy with what I was purchasing. If not he even offered to refund my money. It just goes to show that if you get the word out there, someone will tell someone else and what you are looking for just may appear.

I have been enjoying watching the SuperUnimatic threads and the photos especially with the matching agitator to mine. You have so much talent and have brought so much to all our lives by creating this club for all of us washer fanatics to share in. Thank you for that!

Sincerely, Patrick

Every time I look at them it's like a fresh look.

I just can't believe I have them.

The washer is the quietest Frigidaire I've ever heard. I thought for sure by the age and the fact they hadn't been used in a long time that there would be problems, but so far so good. I plan on taking the inner tub out to see how much rust is hiding under there and coating it with POR. Eventually I will repaint the cabinets as well and then they will really look good. I'll post more pictures as I take them.

Patrick

By the way...Tony's parents, as well as my own, who thought I was crazy for wanting a 30 y/o dishwasher have changed their minds. Tony's parents stopped by the house a few times cleaning out all the junk and they LOVE the dishwasher you gave us.

Guys...you have no idea just how nice Patrick and Hilario are. Guys like them are such a huge asset to this club and I'm so glad we met them and I really can't wait to get to Portland!

BTW Patrick...how did you like the Westinghouse pair in the basement? (Not to mention your witnessing me find the books to them!!! I was so shocked!!!)

Jon

you hit the nail on the head......Patrick has been great to deal with and extremely helpful.

Patrick the 1-18's are doing fantastic all i need to do now is get the drimel tool out and buff up the console and they will be perfect. And BTW why in the world would you want a closer picture of this ugly mug? LOL You don't believe me just ask Chris......lol
He's supposed to be coming down on sunday to see the new machines......You all need to make a trip to the great midwest sometime......There is a lot to see and we'd show you a great time.......thanks again!

Jon,

I am so glad you like the dishwasher. I knew I couldn't let it go to someone who wouldn't appreciate it, or worse the dump. So I am glad it ended up with you and Tony. When the time comes I'll be glad to help you hook it up and address any issues we may find.

Both you and Tony are great guys and we are both happy to have met you and hope to see you soon.

take care, Patrick

Mark,

I am glad you are enjoying the 1-18's and that they have started you on your way to a great collection. That is your plan isn't it? I know the bug has bitten! So watch out...

Be careful of the buffer on the control panel in case you buff the markings for the knobs right off. Ask Chris if the clear plastic spray that he is so experienced with would work in making them look all new and shiney.

Have a good Sunday!

Patrick

Jon,

Almost forgot, yes your Westinghouse set is way cool and in such good shape. Perfect for daily drivers. And wasn't that lucky of you to find the Use and Care Manuals amidst papers that might not have been saved. YAY for you. Let me know next time your going to come for the weekend.

adios - Patrick

Re: Dryer Drum Pix:

Hi! Patrick, I'm curious to know if the Round Steel insert with holes in it on the back of the Drum, is for a Clothes Sprinkler Container to give some moisture to items needing to be Ironed?

I also see the lever on the upper-left side of the opening, does your Dryer have the Stationary Drying capability as well?

"BTW" the Custom Imperial Set {above your Imperial Set} is what one of my neighbors bought new, just before their youngest Child was born, in 1963. Enjoy doing Laundry in them, they are great looking and great Washing and Drying Machines.

Peace and Fun Times doing Laundry with Frigidaire's, Steve

Steve,

I actually think the round panel inside the dryer is access to replace the interior light bulb if it burns out, but I will have to take a closer look.

The red lever you see is a top release for being able to access and light the pilot for the gas burner.

I know the Custom Imperial set you speak of with all the pushbuttons. Would LOVE to stumble across a set like that.

Here is a pic of that type of set. Breathtaking!
