What are the names for the HE washer models being produced by all the companies. Here are the ones I know:

Bosch:Nexxt, Axxis.
Dyson:Contrarotator.
Fisher & Paykel:EcoSmart, AquaSmart, Intuitive Eco.
Fridgidaire:Affinity.
GE: Harmony.
Haier: Genesis.
Kenmore Elite: Oasis, Calypso, HE2, HE3, HE4t, HE5t.
LG: LG TROMM SteamWasher.(What the heck does "TROMM" mean?)
Maytag: Neptune, Epic, Bravos.
Samsung: SilverCare.
Whirlpool: Cabrio, DuetHT, Calypso.

Did I miss any?

As you know, Calypsos are no longer being produced.

You missed Maytag Neptune TL, but also no longer produced.

Most all frontloaders nowadays would be considered HE, so there are probably bunches of those. Ran across this Amana Front-Loader and matching dryer at a local store this afternoon. On closeout! Only two left! $599 washer, $549 dryer.

Asko---Well, they are getting better the people at Bradly dist said.New big machines are coming to the states very soon." New and improved" perhaps.
Although, alot of places do not stock them.
Miele---need anymre be said, I think they are Fabulous!!!!
Although, I know from what I am told they do not stock the Asko like they once were.
Equator--They may be out of business, I can not get their side to come up at all, although, their soap can still be purchased online.
Eurotech---which is owned by Asko and made in Italy
Staber----Who is lacking in national distribution, so they said when i called them
Speed Queen---has a line of HE machies as well as the TL's .
Creda----No longer sold in the US, perhaps other places in the world under the label Hotpoint, I am sure that someone will know the other brands that they are
Artisan---I saw one of their dishwashers at Reigalmans when I was in the other day buying something with a friend the other day. The man said they may sell the laundry later on depending how the dishwashers do.

Continental Girbau----Thay make that Alliance EcoWash washer I saw on a thread here in the Deluxe Forum. They also make the Speed Queen brand now. Also, Staber does indeed lack in sales because you cannot buy Staber washers and dryers in any store, only at www.staber.com... or at the "Staber Store" section at www.fixitnow.com.... DADoeS, I made the Neptune TL as part of the "Maytag Neptune" mention. However, the entire Neptune line is being discontinued this fall and soon no Neptune washers will be made. The Calypsos have probably just been recalled to improve them so they don't break as easily. Remember there was a class-acction lawsuit on them. And lastly, the Dyson Contrarotators are currently not being produced.

Also, on another note, How come Amana and Frigidaire do not have HE top-loaders? Also, LG has made a Top-loader. How come they only market it in Europe where Front-loaders rein and not in the US where it would fit in amongst all the other Top-loaders?

FL washer

Another Interesting mashine for the American market could be the H axis toploader, with the funny trapdoor inner tub!

They last longer because they have two bearings instead of one at FL washers. They would be the perfect matching washers for the US market.

Here Two wonderful Examples of European High end TL washers

One is the miele softtronic 297 wpm Domestic washer. Holds a capacity of 11 pounds of dry cloths, top Spin Speed 1400 rpm average price about 1900USD

TL Washer

The other one is the high End swiss made V- Zug Unimatic T High End Comercial washer a bit more pricy than a miele. Holds about 12 pound. Especially made for the use at apartment houses. Spinspeed 1200rpm. Available for the chickenfeed of 6400USD
But its disireable and nice to look at!

Saw an AquaSmart/AeroSmart pair @ Lowe's this evening. Sleek-looking with the true touch-control panel and minimal buttons. Didn't have time to 'scope out an electric outlet. AquaSmart is smaller capacity than the Cabrio that was parked next to it, looks to be same size basket as agitator F&Ps, whereas the Cabrio(Oasis/Bravos) are larger.

Since the new F&P Aquasmart offers the option of cleaning like a regular TL washer, I wonder if the wash plate can be put into a regular F&P TL washer? I would love to try it in my GWL11!!!

You asked what TROMM could mean?
Well, maybe it is just a hint to the drum. Trommel in German means drum and as LG also produces TLs with agitators/pulsators for the American and Asian market it could be a hint to the drum machine type...!?

Hey DADoeS, maybe you could buy that Aquasmart/Aerosmart pair to replace your current non-matched pair. I like this pair the best of the 3 pairs because the washer has a washplate and the controls are easy to use.

With all this talk about Top-Loading H-Axis washers, how about Staber washers? They have electromechanical controls. They have a max spin speed of 710 RPM and are big enough to hold and wash a single King-Sized comferter. Here is a pic of model HXW2304.

Lederstiefel1, I saw videos of a Top-Loading LG on Youtube. But I have not seen one in person to know they are sold in America. can you show me what the washer looks like and what stores I could find it in?

Dominik,

The Miele H-axis toploaders don't have two bearings, the drums in Miele toploaders are hung up on only one side.

The Staber washers have two bearings. One on each side of the tub.

LG and GE

funguy10, the reason for LG not marketing TLs in the U.S. might have to do with them being partnered with GE on the Harmony series.

Miele washer

I didn't know, now i do know! Is there any reason why they don't have two bearings? But the nice V- Zug has! A very neat mashine!

Sitting here, waiting for my first Miele FL washer. A nice Mondia 1220...

I believe Miele thinks it's better to have bearings on one side than on two. Toploaders had problems in the past with the bearings getting out of line. The Miele axis is heavy enough so there shouldn't be a problem.

The Miele axis is heavy enough so there shouldn't be a p

That would be probably the reason why Miele have ontly ONE bearings...

TL here makes only the difference for the loading system comparing wiht FL...both are tubling washers so horizontal-axis.

I knew that every TL here had 2 bearings...Miele will be an exeption!

Anyway is good to find lastly even in US market the EuroTL...GREAT! So people don't have to think to Staber only anymore talking about TLHA!

...find THE difficult

You're right my dears! It is still very very difficult to find that kind of machine in US market...I found the VZug (which is Swiss made) but no information on miele.com about the model Softronic 297...

And even if you try with other brands...you're stil there...

Electrolux: re-sent you to the Frigidaire website
Ariston: don't have TLHA but only FL fightening the same to the UK Hotpoint

No other brands to suggest you... why don't try the French Brandt?
