nice machines i wonder if they still sound like an airplane coming in for a landing when the spin ends (very loud)not like the duets,i had the ones under the huebsch name and i had an amana front loader too, they were the same machine only the amana had a boosted hot ,extra rinse switch and end of cycle signal.here is a picture of a pic that i have.

i forgot to tell you that these are the huebsch machines and i paid extra to have the window and galvanized drum in the dryer, the galvanized drum i think is standard on the speed queen now.also the washer was not avail with the heater, huebsch did not offer that.

Excited

Thanks guys,I'm starting to get excited about them!My wife did not want to let go of our Frigidaire FL3.1-she loves it.I am doing a kitchen remodel, and while our laundry is in a different part of the house I had a chance to sell all my old appliances-including the WD-I decided to replace everything. We looked at everything except Speed Queen(I did'nt think of it at first)and-call me simple-found everything far more complicated than necessary.I dont need 20 cycles, with several variations for each-to me it is overkill.Plus,I am a sucker for quality. The simplicity of the controls is what finally sold me-I think they look very elegant in an industrial sort of way.I will keep everyone informed.

Mulls, I know what you mean. I only want 5 cycles: Regular, Permanent Press, Gentle, Quick/Sweaters and Pre-wash/Soak. And I only want knobs and mechanical buttons, not electronics in case of power surges. Having said that, Good luck on those Speed Queens!

I have an old version Huebsch FL with heater. The new version do not have heater.

I bought it as an demo Feb 2006.
It has the mechanical timer.
It uses brushed motor and is a bit noiser (the new version uses induction motor and should be quieter).
It is a robust washer.
Our family like it better than TL.
